I just found the cutest dress that could possibly work for our rehearsal dinner, the only problem is that it is black. My mom thinks that it would be inappropriate for the rehearsal, thoughts?
no way. I wore a cute black dress for the rehearsal and have seen several other brides do this as well. Especially since the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are often at night.
As the center of attention for the wedding, the bride and her party traditionally do not wear solid black - unless the wedding ceremony itself is a black tie affair.
My recommendation would be to incorporate black, since it is always classy, into your rehearsal ensamble but not to make it the sole color. In fact, the hottest Fall 2008 color combo is black and white so go vintage elegant for your rehearsal. Remember, your wedding is a joyus, festive occasion and your attire should match your mood!
Save the LBD for work cocktail parties and other festive occasions, but not your wedding
