i cant decide on a wedding dress!!!

posted 2 months ago in Beehive

i have tried on MANY wedding dresses. and i liked a lot of them! but only a few screamed my name. i am absolutely in love with the all lace type of wedding dress. with no beads or anything. just lace. i tried on one that i liked...but i didnt get the same response from family. i went into a small botique and oddly enough...i love these two lace dresses that have beads on them! one has a straight across neckline that i LOVE, but im not super fond of the pattern of the lace. the other i tried on and i said "this is the one!" i remember being so happy with it on...but i look back at the picture and im like...its so not what i have been looking for. its a sweetheart neckline that kind of points up to the shoulders. different. it also has no lace on the boobs but it starts right underneath boobs then goes to the floor. im afraid it might draw too much attention to the area! ive always dream of a certain dress, but im running out of time. what should i do!?

The dress is gorgeous!!!!

My dress is nothing that I imagined I would ever love.  For months I was scouring the net looking for all the dresses I was going to try on. When the time came, and I tried on all those dresses, but it was not to my liking.  Loved the dresses, but just not on me.  Then came MY dress.  Did not like it very much just looking at it, but when I tried it on, it was just ME.  I loved it.

Your dream dress might now always be the one that will look the best on you.  IF you still have time, look around more.  The dress that lingers in your head the most, whether it is what you imagined or not, is most likely IT~ =)

 Good luck!

I think that dress is absolutely stunning!  Just like Novbride, the dress I ended up with is not at all what I expected going in (in fact it was pretty much the opposite of what I expected!).  I was not a believer in the fact that I would know when I found 'the one'...but in the end it definitely was the case!  It was the dress that the more I thought about it, the more excited I got.  Visualize yourself walking down the aisle in the dress, or at your reception.  If you are excited (or happy or bridey or whatever you are going for) even though it is a bit different from what you originally planned then it may be the one!  If it just doesn't feel right...then keep looking!  Whatever dress you go with, it should make you feel awesome! It's YOUR wedding day, so go with what makes you happy, even if its a bit different from your original vision.

Also, I wouldn't sweat the little details of the dress (for example if you don't like the neckline) since often small changes can be made to it either by the designer when it is ordered or by your seamstress when you get it altered.

When I went dress shopping, I wanted a simple sheath style white dress with few details.

What I got was a drop waisted, v-neck, lace covered dress in ivory and gold......totally not what I expected.  Who cares what you THOUGHT you'd get....get what you found out you liked!  And that dress in the picture is gorgeous!

You read my mind... I've been having the exact same problem, I've tried on wayy too many dresses and have really liked a bunch of them, but now I'm having a hard time deciding. I keep waiting for that "aha!" moment, but it hasn't happened yet! There are so many options out there it's easy to drive yourself crazy... but I don't think you should worry about whether the dress is what you originally planned. As long as you love it now, that's all that matters! The dress in the pic is beautiful, I'm sure you'll look great in it!

I had something very similar in mind and I had a dress on hold and was going to go back in the morning to purchase. ( I am buying off the rack because I took to long shopping and trying on over 200 dresses so I would never be able to order in time, know one would think I had a year to plan) Anyhoo, the dress was the Casablanca 1900 very beautiful and similar to yours, I loves how the train keeps its shape when you walk and the lace is so elegant without being to overpowering. But the more I looked at the pics I couldent see myself walking down the aiel in this dress, so I kept looking and now am in love with the Enzoani Austin, which I still need to get my dress my wedding is in NOV (AHHH PANIC time). But go with your heart and you will be happy on the big day. I know I found the one, I just wish I could love the price tag as much as I love the dress :)

The dress is beautiful!  But, don't forget that you don't have to take it as is necessarily.  For example, mine was originally a straight strapless gown.  I asked my seamstress to make a delicate sweetheart out of it and it looks amazing because it matches the scalloping at the bottom of my dress.

Maybe you could ask your seamstress to soften the angle in the sweetheart so it's not so much of a point but a bit more rounded.  Just a thought if that's the only think holding you back.

I didn't expect to love my dress before I saw it on either.  I had the sillhouette in mind but not the type of train/overlay. Now every time I put it on I can't wait for April to come.

OK LADIES! i went back in the try on the two dresses again for my mom! the first one was pretty of course....then i tried on the one in the picture...and i LOVED it!!! even more than before. so i decided to put a down payment on it. i couldnt be happier with it! thanks for all your encouragement girls. also, hesallmine, you completey read my mind! i talked to the lady about maybe making a few changes in the top and she said the seamstress could fix anything i wanted! but first im going to wait til it comes in my size...because it was about 5 sizes too big...and see what i think about the top! i might just keep it the way it is! thanks again for all your nice words.
