o wow that is beautiful! i think i would rather buy them from a store...because i just want to make things as simple as possible. im not a very organized person...so shipping might make it a little tough. but something like that you can tear down... or esp one tier stands for pies or cakes that are cheap but still cute would be perfect! know where i can get some?
Hi Andrea! I had been on a mission for cakestands like you. I went to Homegoods this past weekend and there were so many cute ones to choose from. Mostly 12" and 10." And then I found some more at Marshalls and TJ MAX. If you don't have these stores in your area...Macy's has a cute line with Martha Stewart (http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=247563&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results). Good luck, but be sure to check the other stores I mentioned. They're way less expensive!
Costco has a four layer black wrought iron & white plate dessert stand (three are connected, one goes below directly at table-height) for around $30. I got two three tier stands that are similar from World Market for about $13.

My centerpieces are "fake" cake stands with favors stacked in the shape of a wedding cake. The "fake" stands are actually a plate with a raised lip on top of an upside down bowl; it's fooled everyone who's seen it so far! http://www.flickr.com/photos/quemarropa/2720918763/in/set-72157604513932007/
