Yes, I am a 10/9/10 bride!

I am trying to get my veil now – they’re so expensive and I’m on a low budget!

I also have to look into flowers

Our invites should be going out within the next week or two

I need to put together the ceremony (eeek) and meet with priest about it

We need to meet with the photog to go over the big day

We need to meet with the restaurant to go over menu

FI needs to look into getting his tux

Those are the big things, I woke up so nervous thinking about this wedding the other day. I hope it doesn’t turn into a disaster – I feel like there is so much to do and we are not getting things done fast enough!

Date twinsies!  We’re knee-deep in invitations right now… trying to print them at Kinko’s but having issues with our PDF that my designer friend has to keep fixing.  We’re really close to fixing it for good, so I’m really hoping I can drop off the cardstock and PDFs tomorrow after work, and pick them up Thursday after work.  After that, it’s about cutting, corner chomping, sticking down the envelope liners, and stuffing all the envelopes.

It’s funny, we have lots of other things on our radar, but this has been all-consuming.  It’s like I can’t think of anything else!

I am trying to decide on invites, gulp!!!  My mother is freaking out, rightly so.  I will hopefully have those done by the end of the week.

We are having our first bridal shower this weekend and next weekend we are doing a tasting of food for our reception and having our engagement pics done.

Time is flying, 10/9/10 will be here before we know it! Laughing

hi guys!  we’re also knee deep in invites.  the envelopes came back from the calligrapher and we’re going to stuff & stamp this weekend.  i designed the brunch and RD invites and those will be printed next week.  we sent in song preferences and ceremony music to the band.  also i just had my first fitting!  it’s so real now.  we still need to meet with the caterer, the rabbi, and the florist, get a few dance lessons, and i have all the other paper details to do (table numbers, escort cards, the program, the menus, etc.).  eep!

Well I’m the day before you guys, hope you don’t mind me jumping in. (Friday night wedding was so much cheaper for us! But it’s also the busiest weekend at our chosen venue.) There isn’t much activity for us 10/8 gals on Wedding Bee!

This weekend I’m working on invitations. I just made nice little cards that give directions to the venue to put in them. Ready to sort through the guest list and address those suckers! I wish I could get cool stamps on Zazzle for them, but I probably won’t bother. I’ll just find something cute at the post office. My fiance wants to hand most of his out to his coworkers, but I want to be traditional and mail them.

I’m also DIYing my flower arrangments, but I can’t do anything til the night before. I do plan on ordering sunflowers off of Sam’s Club’s website, but that won’t be for a while too. My wedding party bouquets & boutonnieres are taken care of through an Etsy seller.

Last weekend I finally dragged my man to the tux shop to place an order for his rental. We’re donig an iPod wedding so we worked on tons of songs to load up on his laptop.  This weekend I hope to look for shoes for me. The following weekend is my shower!

@luli29:

If you are still looking for your veil, try Occansey Designs.  I got my custom veil for…get this…$35.  Some more complicated designs can get pricier, but most of them are extremely reasonable.  Just FYI.

@October4040:

We’re doing an iPod wedding too!  Did you ask a specific person to manage the song list switches for dinner, dancing, etc.?  Or do you have a planner or someone who will do that for you?  I’m not sure yet what we’ll do…

I mailed my invites today.  I’ve had them for weeks but I may have procrastinated a little on the odious task of addressing them:)

I had my first fitting last week.  I bought a sample dress that was a little small but I lost enough weight so that it fit!!!  Shoes, veil, bra were previously purchased.

I have decided what I am doing for placecards/table numbers but need to order the paper.  And make them.  Damn you bees for being so creative and adding to my previously-non-existent DIY list…

Must assemble the flower girl baskets, more freakin’ DIY…

Must plan the ceremony.  It is in my head, but others (like the officiant) might like it on paper.

Must work more on song list for DJ

Must play around with my DIY headpiece.  I have one, but remembered I had some vintage rhinstone jewelry from my late grandmother.  I am going to try and wire the pendant and earrings to a hair comb.  If any bees are good with that kind of thing, I would appreciate your advice!

Need to decide on bridesmaid gifts.

Must decide on cake design.  I’ve booked a baker and FI wants a Bud Light can for his grooms cake, just need to decide on the actual wedding cake.

Ladies–we are 6 weeks out!  I am at the point where I really need some paper lists instead of just mental.  It’s detail time!

@LadySunshine: Hang in there.  If the seamstress wasn’t worried about getting the alterations done, you shouldn’t be either.  Also, going to a dress that fits better will make it a lot simpler on their end.  And cheaper on yours:)

I must get back on track with my diet/exercise program.

I have finally decided what I am doing for my bridesmaids gifts.  Day of jewelry, pasminas, manicures.  Of course I will include a personal note to each one.  I will work on my BM luncheon invites today

Decided on placecards–I have vowed to write the names as they come in.  Will add table numbers later.

Still haven’t done crap with the ceremony, DJ or baker…

I’m a 10/9/10 bride, and here’s where i’m at:

Yesterday was my final fitting- and after losing 10lbs it fits beautifully!  Our invites were sent out on Aug 23rd and we’re already receiving RSVP’s!

Our cake has been picked, flowers done, dresses fitted/altered, officiant booked, tux’s rented, rings bought, menu finalized, gifts bought (except for parents), hair/makeup artists booked, honeymoon booked….

Still working on music and song choices, going to be taking engagement pics in a few weeks- and we’ll talk about wedding day specs then.

I feel good about everything- we started planning right away and had most everything done early on, so that we wouldn’t be in a pinch 6 weeks from our BIG DAY! 🙂
