    Sorry I've been MIA bees!

This accident happened on our 1 year anniversary too this past Sunday October 23, 2011.  A criminal with a 50 arrest history stole a silverado pickup truck which was hauling landscaping equipment and got into a high speed chase with police.  He ended up hitting 2 vehicles (one of them was ours) destroying them both.  My husband and I were in one of the vehicles and are lucky to have our lives.  He T boned us because I reacted so he wouldn't hit us head on but he still struck the drivers side front/rear of the vehicle. I have a lot of abdominal trauma due to my seatbelt but miraculously the baby is doing just fine.  It had a strong fetal heartrate of 167-170 and was moving like crazy.  I swear, we have a miracle baby and someone is looking down on us.

The worst part? The other vehicle this lunatic hit was driven by another 11 week pregnant woman.  He flipped her car and broke her husbands wrist who also was not driving.

I just can't believe we went through all this, this week!!

Holy moly.  I'm so glad you, DH, and the baby are okay.  How terribly scary.  I really, really hate driving these days.  As I always say to FI - "it's not you I worry about, it's the other drivers".

I sure hope the other baby is okay!

Thanks for the vibes ladies.  I need it!

The police let me know that the other mother and baby were also OK.  I had a horrible experience with my OBGYN after the accident who showed NO sense of urgency regarding my condition.  She didn't even want to do another ultrasound or Pap to make sure my cervix was still closed.

Needless to say, I'm leaving her care for another doctor.  Can you believe some people? All she said was "There is nothing we can do"

OMG! So glad that everyone is ok and escaped with only minor injuries! Sounds like leaving that doctor is a good idea. I can't believe that she wouldn't be compassionate and understanding about your concerns after going through that!

@nskillet: Wow.  I'm glad you're going to find a better doctor because no matter what, doctors are there to take care of you and your concerns.

@Mispumpkinpie.  I mean, right? I'm not overreacting right? I had a 10am appt and she didn't see me till nearly 12 pm and then said its cause she was waiting for the hospital to send the records to her.  She then didn't examine me, only looked at their charts, and said "you better hurry up with your blood work"  I mean, I understand that early pregnancy is difficult.  There really is NOTHING they could do to save my baby at this point but shouldn't they be trying to help ease my mind?  I tried requesting an additional ultrasound because they didn't show me at the hospital (I was strapped to a backboard) and I still haven't seen the baby since the accident.

I have an NT scan scheduled for next week so I should see them then, but I just can't believe how everything turned out.

Pardon my French, but holy shit! I am so glad none of you were seriously hurt, especially the little ones in the making. As for the lunatic driver, I hope they nail him to the wall. What a stupid reason for all of this to have happened.

Wow, I'm so glad you and your family are okay! Sounds like a smart decision to find a new doctor, too. Even if they can't do anything medically, they can ALWAYS do a lot in regards to patient service.

I was also in an accident in early pregnancy, and I learned since then that being in an accident raises your risk for having a posterior "sunny side up" baby at delivery. There are lots of things you can do to lower your risk, such as exercises and chiropracty, so keep this in mind as you advance in your pregnancy. I didn't do enough and my baby was still posterior at the start of my labor and it took 18 painful hours of labor to turn him around before delivery!

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you had to go through all this but just really thankful you are okay. Your doctor's lack of empathy is really upsetting, she should be doing her best to reassure you instead of brushing you off. I'm glad you are switching, you really deserve better.

Wow.  I'm so glad you're safe and that baby is still doing well.  Good luck with the NT scan.  I'm sure it will be a huge comfort to actually see the baby in addition to hearing a strong heartbeat.

It's a good thing that you got another doctor, b/c I was about to kick this one for you. What a jerk! How could she just say, "there's nothing we can do..."?? People make me so angry sometimes!!

And, good call on finding another Dr. That's straight BS that she didn't care enough to ease your mind and let you see your baby.

Just so glad you are ok!

my goodness! So glad you're ok!

I hope you find a doctor that's a bit more sympathetic... I mean, yeah, there's not much they could do, but they could check things out more so it's clear exactly what's going on with your body.

I hope this is the only scary event in the rest of this pregnancy, and my prayers are with you abd the other 11wk pregnant woman he hit.
