    WOO HOOO! We are married Laughing Our wedding was in Dorchester, SC and we live in upstate NY.  We have one teaser pro-pic so far so here is that pic & the non-pro pics from family/friends....

    I plan on doing another recap post when I get more pics.  We were on a $7,000 budget & planned the wedding from about 1,000 miles away.  I made many diy projects to keep the costs down.

    Congratulations; you look beautiful!  Would it be possible to see a breakdown of your costs?  FI and I are aiming for $8k or less and I'd love to see where you saved.

    Thanks y'all!  I can't wait to see the pro pics....the wait is torture!

    @ luvmyDwight....my daughter will be 12 in January.

    @Kaliella here is a breakdown of my costs.  I don't have it down very exact but at least the big ticket items Cashould help you gauge things.

    These costs were based on 79 guests....unfortunately only about 50 showed up

    Venue: $825

    Rentals from venue: $374 (tables,chairs,table cloths,table cloth toppers,centerpieces,ceremony decor)

    DJ: $600 from 3:00 pm-9:00 pm

    Catering: $2,000...I cringe at this # but hear me out, we had a buffet of salad, pulled pork bbq, grean beans, cole slaw, southern style mac & cheese, sweet potato souffle, tea, lemonade, water, beer, wine, and cake cutting service.  If I had known soooo many people weren't going to show up I could have saved a lot here.

    Photographer: $800 from 3:00 pm-9:00 pm

    Cake: $240 (based off of 60 guests since the cake was served later in the night and we knew w/a Sunday wedding people would leave early) we still had a good bit left over

    Officiant: $0 he was a friend of a friend & loves doing wedding & doesn't ever charge.

    Limo:  $0 it was a gift from my dad, otherwise we wouldn't have had one.

    Attire:  $1,000 Dress, undergarments, viel, tiara...my dress was $599 which was the max I was willing to spend & the rest was for the other items above.  Those things cost way more than I expected!

    Alterations: $345 OMG!  4 in hem, and I lost weight so I needed the bust taken in & the hip area too. This was an unexpected cost for me.

    Tux rental: $158

    Hair & Make-up: $130 from the salon at Ulta beauty store. They did a great job & I had airbrush make-up & it lasted the entire night.

    Day of coordinators: $0 two of my college friends volunteered their services as their "gift" to us.  It was a life saver!

    Those are the big things... I also had a lot of DIY projects that I don't have exact costs for. I can tell you that I never paid full price for anything w/my projects.  I either bought items on sale or used coupons at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Here are some projects just to give you an idea...

    5 bouquets, 2 corsages, 5 boutonniers, homemade strawberry & blueberry jam favors, misc signage made from dollar store frames, invitations, programs, DIY blue mason jar candle holders, Kids table wooden "kids" sign, toy bucket, DIY activity books, mad libs, I-spy w/disposable cameras, wish bowl, wish bowl cards, bling cake topper, bathroom baskets, large basket for favors, card box, guest book/ring bearer pillow/garters/flower girl basket set, sparklers, emergency kit.

    I'm sure that I'm forgetting stuff but that's all I've got for right now :)

    I sure hope it helps you!

    @tera7363:

    Thanks so much!  It's good to have a heads-up about things that aren't obvious, like undergarments and accessories.  I'm finding that venue rentals are THE biggest expense, at least in my area... *sigh*.  I need to find a nice, simple, and CHEAP venue...

    @Ivorybuttons:

    Thank you :)    My hubby's tux was from Mens Warehouse & it's the Calvin Klein two-button shaddowstripe knotch lapel.
