WARNING: SUUUUPER PIC HEAVY!
We did it! I don’t know how, but we did it! I can’t believe I’m writing a recap, where did the past 16 months go??
I almost posted something a while ago cursing DIY weddings and venues, and though I’d NEVER want to do it over again, I don’t regret a thing. Our day was so personal and we put ourselves into every detail, I’d have it no other way.
We had beautiful (albeit cold) weather with blue skies and changing leaves. My dress fit perfectly which I was worried about because in the weeks leading up, it was a tight squeeze. Even if I was uncomfortable, the adrenalin masked it! Our ceremony was sacred and beautiful, with my two close friends singing “The Prayer” as the highlight. Sure, I was hysterical from the minute I saw him to the minute we said our vows lol, but I didn’t care. My husband looked phenomenal. He’s gorgeous as it is, but in formal wear, he made my knees weak. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt seeing him at the end of the aisle.
Our bridal party was flawless. I was getting concerned about the colors closer to but they were so seasonally appropriate and flattering. I got last minute accessories for my girls that really completed their look and although I’m not a fan of matchy-matchy bridesmaids, with only 2, it really worked.
If there are any New Jersey brides out there who are in need of recommendations, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend ANY of my vendors. They were superb from the professionalism of the photographer to the frosting on the cupcakes.
I know a lot of women feel a sense of emptiness after their big day, understandably, and I was not looking forward to that. Good thing, too, b/c I don’t have that feeling at all. I’m actually quite relieved. It was perfect and we worked SO hard up until the day of that I’d NEVER want to do it again lol! Life has resumed normal and now I’m looking forward to planning a quasi honeymoon in 2015 with my gorgeous husband.
Without further adieu, here are a few non-pro shots of our day. Enjoy! <3
