I’m sorry you are going through this. Your chart looks really promising, especially compared to prior cycles. I hope that negative was a fluke and you get your BFP soon!!

I have natural cycles exactly like yours, anywhere from 35-49 days and had confirmed ovulation and have a text book 14 day LP.  I had no side effects from Clomid, but it didnt work for me.  I did 2 rounds at 50mg (first round got me to ovulate on CD18, second round apparently had no effect since I didn’t ovulate until CD35).  I then did 2 more rounds at 100mg and ovulated around CD17 or 18 with a trigger since we were doing IUI.  I’m actually surprised your doctor wants to put you on meds before the HSG.  The first thing my OB (and RE agreed with what my OB did) was to schedule a HSG (and even before seeing my OB, my primary care had me go in for vaginal u/s to check for cyst and any other abnormalities) to make sure the tubes are clear prior to meds.  If things dont look right with the “plumbing” (for lack of better term) to begin with, meds are just pointless.  If your insurnace will cover it, personally, I would push for the testing first before taking meds.

NowandLater:   good luck!   hopefully you’ll be one of the easy cases where clomid does the trick!  if you end up needing the hsg though, don’t worry too much about it.  The hsg was not very bad at all, not much worse than a pap imo and I have regular period cramps that were worse than the 10 seconds of cramping it caused..  It was such a breeze, I went right back to work after.  🙂

NowandLater:  Looking at your chart and your previous charts, I think it’s possible you O’d on CD 20, and therefore are only 10 DPO?  Any reason you stopped taking OPKs before then?  That could explain why no AF and BFN…

FF moved my O date twice last cycle, at first it had me O’ing much earlier than usual based on temp shift but once I added in + opk I ended up Oing around when I normally do.

NowandLater:  My first thought was that you acutally O’d on CD20 as well.  Especially considering your fertile CM was just starting on CD14.  That could explain why your temps are still super high right now.  Either way, I hope clomid works wonders for you.  But I hope even more that you’re still in the running this cycle and you won’t even need it.

NowandLater:  I am having issues with clomid and thought I’d share so you are aware of the (Rare) risks. I’m on my second cycle of clomid. I noticed a couple of days where I was queasy and had to lie down for a while. On cd 9 I was vomiting for the evening but thought it was just a bug. I did my ultrasound and I had 6 mature follicles. That means risk of multiples and probably the sickness was due to OHSS (ovulation hyperstimulation syndrome). According to Dr google I didn’t have too many symptoms so I didn’t worry too much. Last night again, I spent the night vomiting. At the moment I’m keeping my fluids up and hoping for the best. It can be serious in a small percentage of cases. I’m so glad I got the ultrasound because I knew to look for it and knew that we’d be risking multiples if we did bd. I know the ultrasound is expensive but it’s worth thinking about getting. I’m not trying to scare you, just wanted to warn you of possible (remember, rare!) risks.

NowandLater:  It happens, Everytime i think i’ve finally got charting down pat, some sort of random curve ball comes my way (eg. FF changing my O twice!) That’s why these forums are great for an extra set of eyes and talking us off the ledge…

I agree that CD 20 might be your ovulation date! Fingers crossed for a BFP in the next few days. 🙂

I just finished two rounds of Clomid (50 mg) and ovulated but did not conceive both times. I do ovulate on my own, so it was intended to “strengthen” ovulation. I think it probably did – my LP was longer than usual and my post-O temps were higher than normal – but no dice in terms of conception.

Wishing you lots of luck!

NowandLater:  We’re just trying on our own for a few more cycles, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll see an RE in September to figure out our next steps.
