I’m cutting it close to the wire Bees. I wanted to be finished everything a month in advance so I only had to worru about double checking vendors and stuff, but you know how it goes!
My last big project was the seating chart. As some of you may be aware by some previous posts, we’re tieing in some fun pirate-y things for my FI. (Coins tossed by the flower girl instead of petals, pirate chest card box, treasure chest favor boxes with chocolate gold coins and our seating chart.
This is the sign that explains to people what to do.
These are the scrolls:
The heart tags were cut out of vintage maps from this old book i got in a thrift shop! Old maps of Canada to be precise!
(Edited to add that when you open the scroll, it tells what table # you’re at)
The fabric underneath is what i made the giant place mat out of. it was the closest thing i could find to sand. I like that it has a suble shimmer like sunlight on sand.
There’s all of them done! Thanks to the FI for carefully burning the edges and getting a face full of smoke!
After I finished sewing the mat it seemed kind of blah, so i decided to hand stitch small sea shells around the whole thing. (Because i’m INSANE!). The seashells i got from Hawaii on a vacation we went on a few years ago that just sat in a box for ever, so i was glad to use them up and it gave it that final touch that really makes it!
And here’s my redonkulous Chibi-cat decided to be helpful. *sigh* Right after this pic she sunk her claws in and pulled a bunch of threads that i had to carefull de-snag.
Other projects we’ve been finishing up is our winebox. I blogged a snak peak here. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/sneak-peak-at-my-wine-box#axzz2bExUrnlN This has been one of my FI’s projects which is why it’s taking him forever!! He finally got around to doing the lid. He used a wood burning pen to draw our initials. I think it turned out great! Now he just needs to stain it and it’s done!
And the last project i finally banged off just this morning was my two hair combs. I started this one months and months ago and had to remake them several times but i’m finally happy with the final results.
I can’t believe how quickly time is going now that we’re so close! EKKKKKKSSSS!
What about you guys? How close are you and how much more do you have to do?
