Love it! We have a girl and she's wonderful. Your bump is cute, mine was about that size at 19 weeks too.

Congrats!  My husband wanted a boy, too, but he is head over heels for our daughter.  Little girls just have a way about them.  Laughing

So cute!  My bump was so awful.  Nothing until way after 20 weeks, and then I just looked fat.  I don't regret not taking pregnancy photos!

Another hive girl! Yay!  I swear there are more girls in our weddingbee baby crew than boys for some reason.  We need to even it out so that our girls have good future partner material!

I agree with that @Mrs. DG!   I have an appointment tomorrow, so I hope that's when they schedule my next ultrasound because I'm dying to find out!  My gut tells me I'll add another girl to the crew, but maybe I'll end up evening it out... :)

Are you kidding? Your bump is adorable. I'm totally jealous.

I LOVE that they were like "and here, a picture of your daughter's labia for you to treasure." Maybe it's in case you forget (likely, right?) whether you're having a boy or a girl, so now you can reference the picture and say "RIGHT! Labia. Girl. Must remember that..."

I've got an amnio scheduled for next Wednesday (at 15 and a half weeks) and while I know we'll get definitive word on the gender from the amnio results, I'm curious whether we'll see any clues from the ultrasound itself...

@flamingred:I'm sure I'll post as soon as we know (though I'll endeavor to keep any ultrasound genitalia photos to myself). Everything has been fine so far, but we lost a previous pregnancy due to a chromosomal abnormality, so that's why we're doing the amnio... I'm hoping it'll help me to get excited about being pregnant instead of constantly just waiting for the sky to fall!

I think I used to say "oh, it'd be fun to have a girl" or "I hope it has blue eyes" but now that I'm pregnant, I honestly could not care less... I don't care if it has 11 fingers (total, if we were talking 11 on one hand that would be rough) or if it's the ugliest baby I've ever seen, as long as all its major organ systems are functional and healthy.

(I think my husband generally agrees with me on this, although I'm pretty sure he's secretly hoping it comes out with some kind of superpowers. Not sure if 11 fingers would count)

@Lozza: I'm so sorry. My baby has a marker for trisomy 18 but my doctor told me like 1000000 times that I shouldn't worry so I'm just concentrating on being excited about whatever sex I'm having. It's hard though and it puts a damper on the excitement but I'm just staying positive. It does change perspective though for sure. I don't even care what she looks like as long as she's okay.

I won't know for sure until my next ultrasound in January so for now I'm just going to look at clothes and bedding and carry on business as usual. It's the only way I know how to deal with it at this point.

@Lozza: @flamingred:We had a 1:24 risk of Down Syndrome.  I know it's anxiety provoking, but I found that it really did change my perspective to appreciate a healthy happy baby of either sex and any appearance.  We also would have been just as happy with a Down Syndrome baby, but we wanted to be prepared.

Just found out that we'll be helping to even out the gender imbalance among hive babies... we're having a boy :)
