IMO this board is pretty but the only actual image from the 40s looks to be that b&w street photo. That's a bit silly since there are TONS of 1940s photos out there for the picking!
What is the feeling you are hoping to evoke? Do you want a ready made board or photos to work with? There are a lot of resources out there for original images, one of them being the Library of Congress...
I agree. I hate this inspiration board. I'm thinking brown suits, lace, pastels? Old typewriter. Ugh. I suck at this!
This sounds like it might be what you're looking for:

@CountryGirl80: Love those mary janes and the table numbers
@MissBoPeep: Oh my gosh! YES! Except it will be indoors!

Some random pix--and like PP said 1940s country china is not hard to find in antique shops. Also, you can usually come across the little hats, gloves, shawls, etc. there too if you want those sorts of dress accessories.
@MissBoPeep: Absolutely stunning!
@jessiesbabe: I imagined you wanting more inspiration of a LA style wedding as opposed to a vintage country wedding; because of your original post. I can find some more vintage country themed pics for ya if that's what you're after.
@CountryGirl80: no, you're right, not vintage country. But I do like some vintage country aspects. Maybe I'm thinking more 1940's glam?
The thing is taht I had a gorgeous inspiration board saved to my comp and I lost it. Why dosen't it show up in google anymore?
What I'm gathering is that you want a Veronica Lake sort of wedding with lace? Early to Mid 40s? Do you want nods to war-time material culture or just the Hollywood portrayal of the era?
I think you may want to pin down what you want a bit more than "1940s" that's a HUGE range. I know you say some country and the images you found remind me more of what the wedding world calls "vintage" but isn't tied to any particular time period.
Maybe start with what you like about the 40s and go from there? (movies, music, dance, lit, art, war time, post-war, etc) That can help narrow you search options
I did an 1940s vintage isnpired wedding. I used mason jars, luggage tags, roses and candles everywhere. I'll post pics when I get home from work. My centerpieces were mason jars filled with roses on top of a doile and son vintage books.
for table names I had objects from the 1940s including clocks, birdcages, frames, coke, clock, telephone and so on..... everything was around love.
I made a board here http://pinterest.com/zusie/1940s-hollywood-wedding-theme/
I guess which direction you go depends upon whether you want it to be movie star glam or more like a real 1940s style wedding.

This is the only inspiration board I can find and it's not quite cutting it. Colors don't matter right now as much as theme. Can anyone help?
