I am looking for a 1950’s plain lace over taffeta wedding dress. If anyone has one, please email me. We’re having a 50’s sock hop instead of the “50th Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration”…
colors are “pepto-bismol” pink,, black white, & silver. I am in need of 10 120 ” round tablecloths in black or a shade of pink… and 6 black or pink oblong tablecloths..
Since retiring, we are on a limited budget, so what do you need to barter/trade for your wedding?? I used to decorate wedding halls…I have large silver candleabras, white lighted gazebo centerpieces with windows in them for you to print your wedding photo on vellum and insert (I am putting our original wedding photo pics in them), .(you can put whatever color flowers you are using in your wedding at the base of them), large wrought iron birdcage for cards.. (small one too) lavendar/purple arrangements, nice for head table,, I also have small lavendar flowers for the base of the gazebo’s,,mirror rounds, 12 nice gold ornate 5X7 photo frames, new guest book & pen, several sizes of gorgeous white party dresses/shoes for girls & some small boys white tuxedo’s too.. ..& other things.. I Need my things after feb 2010.. email me with your needs.
thanks so much..
Need 50’s decor too…as inexpensive as possible..

Hi crwatson! I’d recommend putting this post in the classifieds instead of the boards. You’re more likely to get traffic that way!

Stephanie James Couture has a great selection of 50’s inspired wedding dresses!

What a neat idea for a 50th anniversary party! I hope it’s perfect!
I just saw this on etsy, and think it’s adorable! I’m not sure if it’s what you’re looking for (it’s baby blue and white), but I love it!
In the same shop, there’s this or this if you’re looking for more of a bridal gown.
I love 50’s dresses.

Mandyrose, thanks for the links–the dresses are beautiful! Stephanie James has great dresses but they’re a little pricey. I called one of the stores that carries that line for the “Josephine” and it was $3,200. The dresses at Dolly Couture start around $400 and they also do custom work (http://www.dollycouture.net/). Another site I love is http://www.poshgirlvintage.com–they have a great selection of vintage bridal dresses. Congratulations and happy planning!

yeah, poke around Etsy – they have a LOT of awesome vintage (and vintage replica) stuff. If all else fails, you can post and ask for bids on making you a dress. You’ll never feel as special as when someone makes something just for you!
