@peaches1038: Are we twins on some strange level? "Peaches" as the base of our user names, sapphire engagement rings, same date...
We're probably choosing tuxes/suits, starting our registry, and finalizing bridesmaid dresses this month. Maybe start narrowing down what I want for a cake (a good girlfriend of mine is owns her own cake bakery business, so the options are wide open!) Already have church/hall, caterer, photographer, rings, my dress...
yep! we are doing blue and yellow. here is the inspiration board that I made when we first got engaged in March. What are your colors?
@peaches1038: I really need to make an inspiration board. And sadly, we'd probably be using blue and yellow if my future brother/sister-in-law hadn't have used it for their wedding. Our colors are various light blues and greens with deep purple as an accent.
That is so funny! We really are like twins. I think those colors will look beautiful! I love the pop of purple! Have you made save the dates yet?
No on the Save the Dates--we're lazy/cheap and have let everyone know via e-mail or word of mouth.
how exciting!! hopefully by the end of january, we'll have picked a photographer and dj/mc.. with our guest list finalized and STDs mailed out =)
so far, we only have the ceremony and reception venues booked. and my dress was just purchased yesterday! (but it's not expected in until the end of may)
ETA: we haven't started our search for a photographer or musician ... or taken pictures for the STDs yet. hopefully it won't be that difficult =\
@peaches13: Well, it's definitely good to save money any way you can....so you can use it on other wedding items!!
@summer7911: Hopefully you won't have too much difficulty finding the photographer and musician! We still have to book our florist, baker and I have to get my dress!!
Eeeek. I'm so excited. I'm planning the wedding from 8000km away...not the greatest, but I'm doing what I can. This month and into next month I'm working on florals... not stoked about paying so much for cut flowers so I'm tossing around the idea of clutches and/or parasols. Other than that I'm trying to make a list of all supplies I'm going to be needing for some diy paper projects for when I get to venture out from the north next month. :)
Good luck to everyone with this month's checklist adventures.
I'm a July 9th Bride too!! EEEEKKK it's getting so close!! We already have a venue, officiant, caterer, photographer, DJ, and our STDs are sent. I just ordered my dress last week and got a florist and baker for our cake and dessert. On the list for Dec/January is: order invitations, hire a DOC, finalize BM dresses, and choose what the guys are going to wear. So much to do but it's so exciting. Happy planning everyone :-)
July 9! woohoo!
January to-do list:
- send save-the-dates tomorrow (they're stamped and ready to go!)
- pick out bridesmaid dresses and groosman suits
- finish registry
- start designing invitations
i'm going to oregon (our site) in february to do the food and flowers, so january is pretty much still just stuff i can do from the east coast. but at least we're moving things along!
Oooh! I just saw this on the "Month Twins" board and as a fello July 9, 2011 bride, I had to post!
My to-do's for January are...

I've already got a bunch of things done...I've booked the ceremony and reception sites, ordered my tablecloths/napkins, booked decorator, booked the guys suits (FI has to go in for a fitting in February), and we've already bought the bridesmaid's dresses (I paid for their shoes) and I even have MY dress and shoes!
I think I'm in fairly good shape, although I do have full-time school to tend with as well...
Oh, I should have also added...
5. Hire an officiant
That would be quite important...but maybe I can move it to February...
When I think about how fast the last 6 months went by I start to panic a little. It's going to be our day so soon! This month I have to send out our STDs, do our cake tasting, book our hotel blocks, rehersal dinner venue and our honeymoon, and I'm going with my BMs to order their dresses. I need a nap...
we literally just changed our date from Sept. 8th 2012, to July 9th, 2011 just yesterday!!! plus we cut our budget in half because of it, which is fine by us, we prefer a smaller laid-back wedding because it reflects who we are more than a big one :-) but now we have to start the planning from scratch!!! its gonna be a hectic 6 months... lol :-)
My 2 do list this month is:
1. Completing my guest list! And just the thought of it is making me so stress! I have a big and family and so does fh so limiting our list to 200 to 225 is very hard.
2. Invitation shopping
Things 2 do in the coming months:
1. BM and GM gifts
2. Favors
3. Jr Bridesmaids and flower girl dresses
4. BM shoes and accessories
5. Odd and ends stuff, etc, etc, etc
Things completed
1. My dress
2. BM dressess picked but not all of them ordered. (Made my deadline for March 1st.
3. Tuxes (measurements will be done in March)
4. Venue, caterer, centerpieces, linens, all done at the venue
5. Photographer
6. DJ
yay! these six months are going to fly by! i can't wait!
this month's to-do list includes:
Well I finally had to breakdown and hire a wedding planner. My maid of honor is of no help and I'm tired of everyone else's opinion!! But I'm cool with it and at least I know the things will go smoother now.
Hello new date twins! We are coming into this date a little late, but I think we'll be okay.... it's the ONE date our dream venue has left all summer, so we have to be :) We will be signing our venue contract on Saturday, I am going to a bridal show this Sunday, and my "will you be my BM/FG?" cards are in the mail. Our potential photographer has the date reserved and we are planning a spring engagement shoot with her. We also know which DJ we want but still need to contact him. Our next step as a couple will be choosing a caterer and booking the DJ, and my next step on my own is dress shopping!
july 9th 2011 is where its at ladies!!
right now we have 158 days!
i have invites, flowers ,bridesmaid dresses need to be ordered. i think thats about it :)
any garden weddings?
how are you going to fight the heat without a/c?
Garden wedding here!
The past three first-week-or-so of July's here:
2010 -scorching hot, hellish humid disgusting weather
2009 -downpour, absolute madness rain
2008 -had the woodstove on at the cottage
......knowing that when we picked the venue we just said we have to hope it's a nice day, not a lot of rain and not a scorcher. If it is....well....more beer to be consumed I suppose? Can't worry about it, just have to forewarn folks there's no A/C and hope it works out!
Well all my letters were sent out to the bridal party concerning deadlines in ordering gowns, tuxes and shoes. Everything else is on schedule. I need to order my invitations in March so I can send them the end of April. Other than that I'm a STRESS FREE bride!
July 9th will be here before ya know it!
I have just over 1/3 of my RSVP's back already. I did things way early, but I don't think it's mattered and perhaps helped people plan a little more!

AHHHHHHHH!!!! Can you believe we are under 200 days?!!? What's on everyone's to do list this month?
We are planning our wedding from 7 hours away, so when we go home for Christmas, we have 3 florist, 3 bakery and a caterer appointment! I'm also going to try on dresses for the first time!!!
