Looks like a carat to me! Do you have the certificate?

The measurements online are just estimates; every diamond will vary in diameter. It would be kinda weird if it matched exactly. Carat is the weight, but diamonds are each cut uniquely, some deeper than others. Yes, yours looks like 1 carat 🙂

@Letsy29: Like Joya said, it’s probably cut deeper. Carats are a measure of weight, not circumference.

@Letsy29: Ah, that’s great! GIA is the strictest. So… Is it a carat!?

Yes, the online measures attached to an particular size are estimates. Even AGS 000 or GIA XXX can vary from those “ideals”. Your stone looks like a 1 ct. You may want to check its other measures against the HCA, but it looks fine.

i “1 ct” can be anywhere from 6.2 – 6.5 mm (or slightly bigger0 dependig on the cut 🙂 Mine weighs .97 but only measures 6.25 across. i saw it weighed 9loose0 and saw it meausred with calipers when set 🙂 also, the calipers can vary slightly…depending on the user and how “loose” they hold the calipers vs how tightly it is squeezed byt he calipers. Digital caliper, of course 🙂
yours looks like a carat…i wouldnt think it is anything less. Looks great on your finger. i have bigger fingers so my 1 ct looks significantly smaller than it would on, say, your finger 🙂

i dont think its about the size i think 1ct is the carat WEIGHT
so it will still weigh one carat 🙂 sounds good to me!

I’m size 5 with 1 ct centre stone which measures 6.46mm across according to the GIA report
