just looking for a little support as i’m still a bit shaken up from last night….it wasn’t a car on car accident thank God……I had a girls night and was driving the girls back home (I was DD)….the road was thru woods and farms….after a 4-way stop, we noticed a car pulled over on the opposite side of the road with its high-beams still on…..not even a second after noticing it, one of my girls in the passenger seat said “wth?” and my attention was adverted to a guy walking on the side of the road I was driving on and stepped out onto the road (later found out he was trying to warn us) and so i swerved a bit so as not to hit him and next thing i know someone in the car yelled tree and we’re plowing thru two huge tree branches that had fell in the middle of the road…..i pulled over after and the state troopers came and took everyone statement and all that ….everyone was safe and not hurt which is what matters but i’m still shaken up…..my last car accident was in 2003 when i just got my license and it was my fault because i thought i had time to make a left turn when there was a car coming and he ended up hitting the back of my car….my car was full of ppl then too….
i just feel guilty for being the one driving and then having an accident….i know it isnt my fault but i still feel upset….im trying to look at the bigger picture – everyone is safe, my car is still drivable, it could have been much worse…. 🙁
just looking for support….thanks for letting me vent..

Oh no! So sorry to hear that! Accidents are always scary, no matter the circumstances. Don’t sweat it, they happen to most everyone at least once. Just be thankful it wasn’t very serious. Big hugs!

Im sorry! I get really shaken up after car accidents too. Just keep reminding yourself that everyone is safe and the only damage is the car. It will probably take a couple days for you to feel at ease behind the wheel again, but I promise you you will be fine!

I am glad that everyone is ok! I get really freaked out about car accidents too. About two weeks about we had an ice storm, I was driving to work and I slid on some ice and hit the curb. My car was ok but I am going to have to get a font end alignment and a new hubcap. It was something so little but I was still shaken up and upset the entire day!
I hope you start feeling better soon. Tonight, snuggle up in a blanket with Mr. Husky and a glass of wine, you deserve it.

I’m so sorry. Car accidents suck. I got in a car accident last year with a friend and I feel like such a dummy for putting someone in danger, even though I wasn’t at fault.
You’re safe and your friends are safe, so that is what matters the most. Maybe try to do something to take your mind off of it. Or talk to someone close to you about it.

Oh no sorry. Concentrate on the bigger picture that no-one was hurt and your car is OK. You’ll probably be upset for a couple of days because of the shock of it. Give youself a little treat like wine and a fave movie.

Sorry to hear about the accident! Try to take all of the pros from the situation. You were being responsible by being the DD in the first place, you avoided hitting the guy who was trying to warn you, and no one in your car was hurt. All very big pros in my book!
It’s definitely scary when you have any kind of accident like that or when you are almost in an accident. You think about all of the what ifs and what could have happened…but the good news is that none of that stuff did happen. Everyone is very safe and sound.
