We’re hoping to spend our one year at our honeymoon hotel, too! I want to put a spin on the traditional one year anniversary paper gift. I’m not sure what to do either, so this is a great question! πŸ™‚

I’m going to give hubs a book of boudoir pics.  I purposely didn’t do it for the wedding because I didn’t have the money, nor the time before the wedding.  So I’m hoping this will be a good paper gift.

I’m trying to think of the same thing because it will be here before I know it. Perhaps tickets to a favorite event/sport or plane tickets for a getaway. I’ve seen some people buy one share of stock of a product the husband really likes and then frame the certificate.

Unfortunately I doubt we will be going on vacation for our 1yr because we had a huge extravagant honeymoon! Maybe a weekend getaway at most.

Some ideas right now include a hand sketch of one of our favorite wedding photos or a professional wedding album.

I’ve been saving everything paper related from our wedding and wedding events with intention of making a scrapbook album. So that’s an idea for some of you ladies. My husband isn’t a big scrapbook person so it would be more of a gift beneficial to me than us.

THIS site has some really cute ideas!

I’m really likeing #8! We wrote our own vows and I kept the handwritten version. So it would be awesome to create something myself and have it framed for our bedroom. I think I just might do this!

8. Wedding Vows – Have your wedding vows printed out nicely – either by a graphic designer, or hand-calligraphy and framed. If not your vows, then a special poem or reading that was done at your wedding or the lyrics to a song you included in your ceremony.

I am a planner too. We got married a month ago, and I already know what I am getting him for out one year anniversary. I am going to take a pic from our wedding and have an artist do a large oil painting of it. Actually, if anyone in the NY area has a recommendation for an artist, would love to hear it. Here is the picture I am going to use. I have some ideas about how I will modify it, but you get the idea.

He had borrowed a book, written in our second language, so I found it in our language instead, bought it and its sequel and had it sent to him at work on our anniversary day. It was simple, but he loved the gesture.

I just had an idea from Miss Egg Benedict’s post!

A handmade bound book of “365 Reasons Why I Love You”.

You can type up/design the pages and print them at home on parchment paper or something. Then bind the pages yourself (think Japanese book binding) and design a cover for it, etc.

Could be a good idea for the husbands that likes books.

It can be silly things like I love your smile. I love that you cook. I love your shoulders. *wink etc etc

hahahaha. That’s why you still have 7 months to come up with more reasons!

I was thinking more along the lines of something sized for a bookshelf, like an actual book, in lieu of a scrapbook. But I think anything would work! πŸ™‚

I might still do this even though my husband isn’t a “book” person. It would be an awesome keepsake to show our future kids.
