@diamondsashadiamonds:  It depends how much money you have and what you consider fun and relaxing. You could do another honeymoon at a resort…or go to Disney for a fun family oriented vacay…if you don’t want to be in Cali, you could go to FLorida since it’s larger.

Where at in Cali are you? The weather is very different throughout the whole state in October. You could do a trip to San Diego or even spend some time in San Fran. If you are in Northern California, you could drive up the coast into Oregon and stop at a few lighthouses.

What we did was just spend the night about an hour away from the house and find some stuff to do that was off the beaten path.

Woohoo!  Yay for one year anniversaries coming up!  I’m in that boat also 😉

I guess this all comes down to budget.  I think it would be nice to do something as a family.  I don’t know much about California — I thought it was always nice there?  o_o;

Anyways, if you did a staycation maybe someone could babysit the kiddo so you two could have a nice dinner out one day.  Make the rest of the weekend family time but allow yourself some alone time as well.

We live in Michigan and the two of us took a mini weekend getaway up to Mackinac Island since it has been years since I had been there, and DH had never been. It was relaxing and great to spend time just the two of us away from everything (we just recently bought a house and have been working every extra minute we have on it!)

@diamondsashadiamonds:   Huh, my San Fran friend always told me to come in October as it is the best weather!

@diamondsashadiamonds:  What about lake tahoe? There’s a little botique hotel DH & I love to stay at up there called 968 Park. They are close to state line & the lake. We like to take the gondola’s up to heavenly & eat at a fun little tavern/bbq place called Rojo’s. We’ve gone at least once a year since we started dating. You can spend the day walking nice trails, sitting on the beach, etc.
