I absolutely adore brooch brooch bouquets. I’m an avid vintage costume jewelry collector and have so many brooches in my collection I could probably whip up 3 or 4 easily. So, I’d really love to carry a brooch bouquet. My mom is adamantly against the idea. Partially because she’s super traditional and partially because she worked for a florist for many years when she was younger, so she has some pretty strong ideas about wedding flowers.
To avoid drama, I’ve thought about having both a regular bouquet and a brooch bouquet. Possibly carrying a floral bouquet for the ceremony and having the brooch bouquet in some but not all of the pictures. Would it be weird to do this? Would there be a better way to handle the two bouquets? Should I leave my brooch collection in a box and just carry flowers? Has anyone else done two bouquets like this?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

I say, it’s your wedding, as long as you are not hurting anyone else- do as you wish! I think a brooch bouquet for pics sounds beautiful!

@Schatzie821: Thanks. My mom thinks it’s weird, but is willing to at least back off if I promise to carry flowers for the ceremony.

how about having your brooch bouquet (which i looooooove and not just cause i hate flowers lol) but having a second flower bouquet you can give to your mother during the reception as a special moment – maybe when you and your husband give a little “thank you” toast/speech?

@FMCollado: I thought of that, but she’s really adamant that I carry flowers up the aisle. She insists I’ll regret it when I see the photos. However, since i’m not having any attendants and will be handing my bouquet to her at the start of the ceremony, perhaps I can walk up with flowers and walk down with a brooch bouquet, I could put it on the table we’ll have to signing.

I think having two bouquets would definitley be perfectly fine if it’s what you want, and I also love the idea of integrating some of your favorite brooches into a fresh flower bouquet. Here’s one of my favorites:

And a different style, also with fresh flowers:

I love brooch bouquets, and floral bouquets: good luck!
