Welcome to the Hive!! If you decide on Iowa there are a few cute places in Council Bluffs that I would recommend. We got married in CB at a place where we brought in our own caterer and booze, it was a beautiful place and I highly recommend it.

If you're considering the Westchester/Hudson Valley area, Hollow Brook Country Club might be good for you. It's a barn-like, rustic reception room and you can either get married outside or inside, I believe. I've only been a guest there, but my good friend is getting married there next summer and she was telling me that since they're a "new" venue, their prices are pretty good! you might check out Round Hill in Washingtonville - our friday wedding is $95 per person and includes cocktail hour, 4 course dinner, cake, open bar, the works. we are doing our outdoor ceremony on site and its coming out to an additional $500 I believe.

maybe you should consider hiring a wedding planner...we recently hired shea from elite(b)events and she is amazing to work with. when you first meet her she will seem crazy for telling you she can do your wedding for less than the budget you set ....atleast i thought she was crazy...but once she introduces you to the venues and vendors she works with and quotes you their prices you see that they top quality vendors! but because of her connections they are super affordable! from what i understand they are the only budget wedding planners in the industry so give her a buzz and see how she can help you!

Hello fellow bride and grooms to be! First, introductions: My lovely fiancee' and I are looking to have a BEAUTIFUL wedding in a state that it is legal for us to get married. (NY,CT,DC,VT,MA,IA) We are currenly focusing on NY and CT as they will be close for families to travel. No cities please (we live in NYC and not interested in a chic, trendy wedding). So if that didn't limit us enough we are also on a tight budget 16k including honeymoon. I am convinced we can do it and it can be gorgeous and thoughtful! We like anything whimsical/garden-like, colorful and elegant VERY open to places that would fit into our budget. With 2 girls there is alot of doubles aka wedding gowns, rings, boquets etc so we have to be careful to find a place that in the right range. Looking to have guest list 100-120. Open to alt options such as fri, sun, buffet, sig drink instead of open bar etc. I would REALLY appreciate your help bee's!!!
