What about a bowl of mini-pumpkins or small gourds or even apples?
Candleabras with ivy trailing around them?
Hope this helps.
Oh! Since you like tree branches, do a manzanita with hanging votives!
Here's a link to a great pic, but you could nix the roses if you wanted.
why don't you do tall cylinder glas centerpeices and fill the vas with small pumkins..do an autumn colored floral arrangemnt on top! I've seen cylinder vases filled with all kinds of stuff. And here are some ideas http://www.celebrations.com/thanksgiving-decorations/all
OH NO! maybe this post was a bad idea, now I already have to many great ideas to choose from.... to narrow it down, i THINK i want to stray away from anything pumpkin related for the second option.... although i love both ideas with the small pumpkins and gourds.... I may want something that actually incorporates my colors.... (pumpkin orange is not one of them!) The girls will be wearing dark Emerald green, and the flowers will be a mix of all fall colors... haven't decided on what types, but i know the general look i want... I also LOVE the tree pic you sent Maisy =)... do you think the trees would be too loud with the pumpkins?
My advice would be TONS of candles! Also, i saw on Better homes and Garden's website..lace covered foam pumpkins..They are GORGEOUS!

For whatever reason my brain won't let me picture green, so this might not match. But maybe some sort of ivy or something in your green color around a lantern? I like the lantern idea personally.
OMG LOOOOVE the lace pumpkins!!!! like seriously, now i don't even want to carve the others and just do lace! ahhhhhhh what to do!!!..... Sady...i really do like the lanterns too.... as far as the green goes, its hard to visualize with everything, im currently making an idea collage to show people, cause i sound CRAZY when i say green. =)
I love them too! You have NO IDEA how tempted I am to use those as centerpieces in some way. It seriously takes pumpkins to an elegant level and not so kitschy. Sooo pretty.
i wonder if there is a way to carve them and use lace???? i just love the glow inside of pumpkins..... hmmmmm think think think.
so here is my colors collage, i have it in another post, but so you can visualize....
@WeAreMarshalls: as another bee suggested you could put something around the bottom of them. The lace pumpkine are so cute.
what about the lantern with the same fall leaves as the pumpkins???
@WeAreMarshalls: Ahh yeah , that'd work well, plus it'd be consistent with the pumpkins. Could you pile the leaves up a bit more?
yea we sure could! those leaves and candles are from the venue, in other words FREE! =) but good idea, although the picture does not do it justice, it really is beautiful... i think consistency will make it all look awesome! thanks for your help Prewitt! and everyone else as well!!!
If you're wanting green, you could consider using cut wine bottles as vases or votives... (Or green beer bottles, for that matter!)
I LOVE your pumpkins! And I'm so jealous!! We are doing something similar...our date is 10/15...and we are alternating centerpieces, our short centerpieces are pumpkins with a ring of leaves around them (very similar to what you posted)--we are then alternating with a tall centerpiece, and it's going to be a 14 inch tall vase (but wide mouth...not bud) with long stems of sunflowers. Our flowers are sunflowers and other harvesty flowers/berries, so it just seemed fitting. I attached one of our inspiration photos below
sonj818, i LOVE the green bottles idea, how simple but would fit perfectly!!! and Mary, i am really leaning towards a taller centerpiece since the pumpkins are so short and round.... i love the sunflowers!!! thanks guys!
You could definitey do manzanita(or other) branches as in the pic you were sent but change up the color of flowers to incorporate your wedding colors
You could add the fall coloured flowers or leaves to the branches and bring in the green with some moss on the top of the container used for the branches,
You could also do birch branches like this:

julies i LOVE the top picture, the one on the left is just what i am thinking... where does one get branches???? a tree??? lol.... no but seriously!

I am new to the bee, but have spent hours looking at all the amazing diy's everyone has done!...... So my fiance LOVES halloween, we are getting married Oct 29th next year, I basically refused to do anything gothic, or halloweenie.... (its a wedding) =)... however i found a way to incorporate the season using foam pumpkins that i got on CRAZY sale, for 1.50 a piece marked down from 20 bucks! anyways, I have always wanted 2 different centerpieces, and with pumpkins I know now I DEFINATELY need another one, (alternating pieces on tables)... I can't seem to think of what would go well with the pumpkins, I thought lanterns, or I have always loved the new tree branch fad.... any ideas would be amazing! (I love creative and different as long as its beautiful!) Thanks everyone!
here is a picture of the pumpkins...
