I wrote a post a long time ago about not liking my dress. When I bought the dress it was at a trunk show and I was with my mom, dad, and grandmother. They said this dress looked great on me, and I thought it did too. I thought it was a practical decision to buy the dress since it looked nice on me and it was within my budget. However, immediately after purchasing I started having regret. I was sad that I didn’t get that “feeling.” Aren’t you supposed to get that feeling?
So I agonized for months. Should I buy another dress.. and knowing that I can’t return or exchange the current one I have. Am I willing to lose thousands of dollars? But I couldn’t think about walking down the aisle having uncertainty about the dress..I didn’t want to risk it.
So I figured it couldn’t hurt to look again… if anything it would affirm my decision on my current dress and prove that I’m just crazy .. not everyone gets that “feeling.”
I went to shopping a few days ago and when I tried on this dress I KNEW it was MY dress. I started crying right away.. even before it was zipped up all the way. I just felt so beautiful and glamorous and I didn’t want to take it off. I got the “feeling.” This was MY dress. I didn’t even care that I didn’t have any friends with me.. I just KNEW. I didn’t need second opinions.
My mom was with me and I thought she would tell me NO and think that I was crazy for buying a second wedding gown. But once she saw me in the dress.. she even agreed that this was the my wedding gown and that I had to have it.
So for all you girls about there that are second guessing your wedding gown purchase.. I would do research and find the gown that you really want. You WILL get that feeling and you will KNOW. .. plus don’t get pressured by a sample sale, trunk show, friends, etc… Because once you buy THE dress, you won’t have regret and looking at other dresses won’t tempt you.. because they won’t even compare.
Best of luck!
