Why does he only want to do it if you have a different dress? Do you want to do the first look for the purpose of pics or other reasons? If it is for pictures wouldnt you want to be in "your dress". Sorry so many questions I just wanted to clarify.
We will have some time after the ceremony for pictures but I'd like to keep it as short as possible...hence the first look. Df is kinda against it because he wants to have that moment when the doors open and he sees me for the first time. But he said he wouldn't mind if that first look didn't have my actual dress. So yes we wold be doing pictures and it wouldn't be my dress. BUT we would have all the ceremony pics, the goup pics after plus we'll have like 30 minutes after the ceremony with just the two of us.
i did this for my wedding and ended up getting a dress for 400. I think you can find some cute white wedding type dresses on nordstorm for around 200:
or a cute idea could be to get the same dress as your bms but in white!
i have a friend who did something like this, because she's jewish and had to sign the ketubah before the wedding, but didn't want him to see her wedding dress. she had him convinced that she was going to be wearing a hot pink dress with purple dots (she's very dramatic and colorful, and said white just wasn't her) and she had a piece of hot pink with purple dots fabric made to fit over her huge princess gown. when he saw her with her pretty white dress on walking down the isle he was sooo surprised, his look was priceless. maybe you could do something like that, cover up your dress in some way. i don't know how big your gown is...

hate to sound cliche, but i'd check out the DB $99 dress sale...
this one's gorgeous!
Thanks girls! I will check out both DB and Nordstroms! Those dresses are very pretty!

Df might agree to a First Look only if I am not wearing my actual wedding dress. I am thinking of buying a second, less expensive dress for our first look shots and then put on the real dress for the ceremony.
Has anyone done this? If so, any suggestions on where to get an inexpensive (less than $200) dress for our first look? I am nervous he might like my first look dress better though...lol I'd hate for him to be disapointed when those doors first open!
