- Wedding: March 2013
Okay at the beginning of our engagement I bought a dress I LOVED. It was dark ivory/light champagne color and my FI said if I loved it, I should buy it if i felt it was my dream dress. Fast forward to recently where he informed me he purchased a white tux to wear for the wedding, which made me panic. He didnt know what color my dress was since I kept all detail to myself, but I cant wear dark ivory/champagne with him in white! He had always imagined himself in a white tux… I didnt want to take one of the few wishes he had away, so i bit the bullet and bought a white dress a month ago in the same size as my first dress. Got it at a great price, dont like it as much as the first, but I’m not picky so I go with it.
Now, all along I had been trying to lose about 10-15 pounds before the wedding… As matters would have it, I ended up losing close to 30. Now BOTH dresses are too big. I mean big with the corset pulled as tight as it can go and they are both still baggy. And I am not sure how much a dress can be brought in, but both these dresses are corset back, one is a Maggie Sottero and the other a Sophia Tolli. I am tempted to just try to GAIN 10-15 pounds back to try and get back into at least one of my existing dresses, OR go buy yet ANOTHER dress in my smaller size now and try to sell the 2 I have now even though I probably wont get my money back.
What would you do?
