I have spent the past few weeks searching endlessly for engagement ring inspiration, Falling in love with rings waaaaay outside of our budget, and now trying to figure out a way to get my vision to fit with the $$.
My wish list:
1) Emerald Cut, 2ct. equivalent (6mmx8mm) pink sapphire.
2) Two side stones? Pave band on e-ring?
3) Pave wedding band.
I loved This Design by Scott Kay, but again price was an issue. I think that 3 stones is just not going to happen right now and I tried to find a solitaire and somehow add some sparkle to it.
I have finally come to this solution. This E-ring with 1 Band Like This on either side of it.
My only concern is that the total thickness will be too much. The Ering band is 2mm and each wedding band is 3.2 mm. Will this look monstrous huge on my finger??

Wait, do you want a round sone or an emerald. I think if you get an emerald cut you might have to get a special band.
I don’t think two bands is too much.

Did you try the natural sapphire company or pricescope, or heat treated sapphires to bring the price down? You could totally find a 2 mm wedding band- maybe what is making it so thick is the channel setting?
Maybe you can find a 3 stone setting and instead of diamonds, use white sapphires, and then just get away with one pave wedding band? I’m tapped.

I’m having 2 bands. My set is very similar to the one you are looking at. My Ering is a 1ct round in a 2mm yellow gold band with bead set side stones. The bands are both 2mm with bead bet stones. I think if you are having 2 bands, you need to keep them thin. Other wise you risk them looking very chunky.

@caszos: I am looking at an emerald cut. I contacted the website and they said that the band will sit well but there may be a small gap because of the bigger setting. I should ask them if they can make a contoured one.
There is a 2mm thick band on their website also in the same style so perhaps that is the way to go. Also I got them to quote me a price with natural and also a created stone. The e-ring setting with the created stone is $775… I like!

I have 3 words for you:
She’s a jeweler on etsy and I’m sure she could make you EXACTLY what you’re looking for in your price range. What’s your budget?
I found a pic of something similar to what you’re looking for:
She also does custom work.
Right now, she’s customizing a 2 ct. yellow sapphire emerald cut in a double halo for us. It will look something similar to this:

That’s almost exactly what I did. If you choose to do the 2 bands on either side, make sure to have them welded together. Or else you’ll spend a lot of time straightening them all out.
