It is 9:33am and our 20 week appointment is at 12:30pm today. I cannot think of anything else and am completely worthless to work right now.
Can anyone tell me what to expect at this one? I know this would be the one to find out the gender, but we’re team green so that won’t happen. However, I’m still hoping to see our little peanut. Is there any testing done? I thought at some point I’ll be tested for gestational diabetes, but not sure when. Having that is my irrational fear now that the possiblity of miscarrying is pretty slim. I feel LO moving around/kicking so thinking (praying) all is going good there.

@MadTownGirl: Blood and pee tests. Blood pressure and weight. Measure the belly and US to measure the baby (make sure they know you’re team green so they don’t accidentally spoil the surprise.)

Good luck! You’ll definitely get to see your little one even though you aren’t finding out the gender. I’m really not sure what else happens – only 10 weeks. I do know that gestational diabetes is usually tested for around 24-28 weeks I believe.

@beachbride1216: Thank you! Dang, I told DH last night I was hoping they don’t weigh me again this time. My Dr. teased me half serious last time not to gain another 10lbs within the month, so I’m nervous to get on the scale again. I’ll make sure to mention we don’t want to find out the sex so hopefully they don’t slip!
@MrsWBS: Whew! I’m so glad we still get to see the baby even if you don’t find out. 🙂 We’ve really only seen the grayish blob and beating heart up to this point so I can’t wait to actually be able to make out a baby figure. Hope you’ve been feeling great this far!

It depends if this is your sonogram appointment or your 20 week appointment with your OB… though I suppose they could be one in the same. At the sonogram, yes, we saw our little girl. The tech takes tons of measurements for the doctor to ensure your little one is growing on track. I had to move all around to get her to move her head from behind my hipbone. I didn’t have any blood work done at my OB appointment, and I have to tinkle at each OB appointment, so that isn’t new. This is the first appointment that she’ll measure your uterus– that’s sort of cool. Like PP said, the gestatational diabetes test in done around 24-28 weeks.
