I am getting married in Maui. It is outside of a restaurant and then dinner at the restaurant to follow. Am very excited for it :)
We are getting married September 28th at the Halekulani on Waikiki Beach! It's halfway for our families - I am Canadian and my amazing fiance is Australian!!!
Sending lots of love and support to my fellow destination Hawaii bees! We said our I do's on the north shore of Oahu last April and I love Hawaii with all my heart. If you ever have questions, feel free to PM me. :)
@beachcandy: Oooh which restaurant??
My wedding is in August in Maui and we haven't decided where we're having the reception yet
@Future Mrs Armby: We were considering it for our wedding venue but we had too many people for the small room and too few people for the large room. I hope it's a blast! It is such a beautiful location, you guys are going to have a terrific time! Congratulations!
Lol, my family lives on Oahu! SO I love hearing about hawaii weddings. The last time I was there I was at Aulani Lagoons. PLEASE BEES do not try to take pictures here. It is a public beach. Some couple was trying to take wedding pics and there waas about 3 feet for them to do some, and I'm pretty sure the photographer got some bikini clad spectators in them!
YIKES!
@niters & @sylvia - we'll be in Maui in aug for a wedding as well!! At the ritz in kapalua....I'm so excited to hear about your weddings!!
We are getting married August 21st in Oahu at a private estate. We have Carrie helping us from Cherished in Hawaii Weddings. She is super amazing and really believes in a stress free planning process. Thanks to her it mostly has been. I am Canadian and my Fiancee is Australian, so we decided half way between. Getting excited just over 4 months to go.
@misstait- OMG I'm getting married at a private estate in Oahu also! Which estate are you getting married at?
@Stephie07 - It was hard to decide, but we went with Lanikuhonua. I had my heart set on the White Crystal Chapel at the Hilton, but the prices were crazy. Reception wise they offered not much for a heck of a lot, so went another direction. Happy that we get to decide who to use for everything vendor wise - and with help every step of the way from Carrie. Where did you guys decide on?
@misstait- We decided that we will be doing it at The Franger Estate in Hauula. We wanted a place where we can get married and have our family and friends stay at the veune too. We got really lucky with this house because it was inexpensive and it sleeps 22 people!
We are renting it for 4 nights 5 days.
We should keep in touch and bounce back ideas :) I'd love to know who you are using for your venders like catering, flowers, and music. Here is my e-mail address mj.stephanie.kim@gmail.com
Stephie07 - That is a great idea so you can accommodate family and friends. We thought about that in the process of things, but the way things were going it looks like there is going to be around 50 people, so kind of ruined that idea. I will email you some info, so you can have a look. So many different vendors to choose from, so makes it hard. Our wedding coordinator there basically suggests vendors to us, we research them, and make a decision that way. Hard to know who to hire for the day, and actually trust.
Ok for all you Hawaii brides, we thought about going to Hawaii in a year or two...But how did yall book your wedding there? is there a site you used? If so can you share it with me? thanks!
June 23, 2012 on Oahu here. Fiance and I live here though, so it's not really a DW for us, but it is for everybody else.
@s.renea9: I'm using Merry Maui Weddings for the ceremony--I've heard good things, their prices are reasonable, they have lots of extra options like musicians
I'm getting married in Kona on July 16th. The actual ceremony will be in a tiny little chapel on the beach and the reception is at a resort. I can't wait!

The fiance (I still do the happy dance when I say this) and I are planning on doing a destination wedding in Hawaii, mostly because my family already lives out there and we both like the idea of a family vacation where we just happen to get married.
We haven't set a date yet and are still in the process of looking at venues. Although my parents live on the Big Island, I have my eye on Oahu just because there are more entertainment options there.
I thought I would turn to the beehive for some ideas. Anyone else get married in Hawaii? When, where and how did you like it?
