I've always found their estimate to be fairly accurate. I wonder if the Where's my Refund site needs 72 business hours (so, 3 business days) to update? That would be my only other thought.

As a CPA we always tell clients allow 2 weeks for direct deposit. It's usually a pretty accurate statement.
LoL! I haven't even received my W-2 yet. I'm on W-2 watch because as soon as it is in my hands, I'm e-filing.
Sorry I don't have any advice about when the refund will be deposited but just wanted to say I know how you feel!
so i got an email now that says by feb 7th. and then it popped up on the wmr site and now its saying no info again. i give up lol. how frustrating though!!!! this isnt a matter of making or not making it and the money really is just a bonus but its MY MONEY and i want it!!!!! i want it now!!!! :D
According to the IRS Timeline for 2012... If the IRS accepts your return between the 19th and 25th, then your dd is released on the 1st, http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p2043.pdf
I did mine on Sunday and will receive it then as well.
I'm so pissed at how slow my banks are at giving me back my 1099s! I want to finish my taxes!!!
I already put my W-2s in turbo tax and it looks like we're getting 5k back!!! Yeehaw!
I expected mine to be deposited by next Friday, and I just checked my account and it's here this morning! You never know.
I believe I've always gotten my refund (through direct deposit) about 1-3 weeks after my taxes have been accepted.
I always got mine 10-14 days after its been accepted and it always was DD on a Friday.
Oh wow- the government changed the DD day- it used to always be on a Friday- now it is on a Wednesday!!!! Thanks for posting that link Clover- I get mine tomorrow!
All bets are off with IRS this year. I have had it with them and I am just gonna wait til after the 7th and hope it shows up sometime by then. im afraid to check back. I have gotten so many different stories i dont even know what to believe. I have seen on other boards some people got theirs unexpectedly, then others are still in the b 2\7 club like me, then others got an update where it says they will get a dd on 2\1, others got an update to say it will be dd on 2\21, others have their deposit today even though it says the 7th still. there is just no right info so far that i can find. its suuuuuuper frustrating. so i give up. I hate the IRS
I filed mine on Sunday and Where's my Refund says I can anticipate the refund on 2/14. So, you're at least before that!
@abbie017: i wont speak too soon because tomorrow is the "where's my refund" update day. Im so nervous to check it in the morning. i swear if it gets pushed back any further im gonna scream!
They are having major delays this year due to some system upgrades that were put in place for elimating fraud. Also, I've read that the "Where's My Refund" website is not providing accurate information as of right now. According to their refund schedule for 2012, I was supposed to be due my refund tomorrow, but the website has not updated since the day I filed on January 23rd.
I filed mines on 2/2 and it still does not show on the site. I can see my state was authorized on the fourth but nothing about my federal. I called the irs and they see it was accepted but do not have a refund date yet. This is annoying.
Hope you've gotten your $$$ now! I e- filed mine around the 1st of February and already received my federal and state refund direct deposits. It was crazy fast for me this year, even ahead of the expect refund schedule.
Spent it already, too. :(

i hate the irs first of all. ok so here is the situation. I filed my taxes on Jan. 20th. they were accepted the morning of Jan. 21st. My state taxes were accepted on Monday Jan. 23rd. Im confused as to when ill actually get my refund. In past years i always got a wednesday or tuesday date as my dd date. However, it never actually landed on that date and would always be the friday before it. In looking at past years it has always been a crap shoot for me judging from when i filed to when i actually recieved my money. Also, I checked the where's my refund site this morning because it says to wait 72 hours after acceptance to check the status. mine still does not show anything. Now they have been having technical difficulties this week i guess so maybe thats why it still shows no status? So my question is this, in your opinion when do you think ill get my refund based on an estimated dd date of feb 1st? thats next wednesday btw. Also, has anyone else had problems with the where's my refund site?
it should be known too that while im not depending on this money to live, i am the most impatient son of a gun around. so to sit and wonder like this is a personal hell for me. happens every year :( im the girl that pays $49079358792340 for over night shipping when ordering things because i just cant stand to wait.
