The venue we’re getting married at just emailed me to let me know the earliest our rehearsal can be is 2:30.
Our rehearsal dinner restaurant, Stateline Brewery in Lake Tahoe, is a one event/day place.. so we technically *could* have a rehearsal dinner just after, but should we? We are planning to do a beer tasting/slide show/meal/hang out and just visit kind of thing. We’re allowed to have the space as long as we want.
All of our guests will be from out of town, so only the bridal party will be coming to the rehearsal, but we are actually inviting everyone to come to the rehearsal dinner.
So.. my question is..
Should we have it at 3:30, and just try to drag things out with the beer tasting and other activities.. or should we delay until around 5?

No. 3:30 is way too early for dinner, even including a beer tasting etc.
I don’t know the timelines of your guests, but if you hold it later it will work perfectly for those who are just arriving that day (gives them time to check into hotels etc). It will aslo allow those who are already in town to sleep in, relax and have a late brunch, or explore the area.
The bridal party can do the rehearsal and either hang out together till it’s time to go to dinner, or go back to their hotels and freshen up/change for dinner.

I think 3:30 is fine. People can have appetizers and hangout or whatever for a while, and then after dinner, since it won’t be too late, people can go out and grab a drink if they feel like, or just call it an early night in preparation of the big day. I think it would be way more annoying to have to kill time for an hour or so before dinner.

No idea what to do!
I was thinking maybe to have appetizers and the beer tasting first.. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere right? To hold us over for awhile.. and then start running our slideshows.. give gifts.. Maybe that would stretch us to 5 when we could start the actual dinner?
Any other ideas that might help buy us some time?

Can you do a rehearsal lunch before the rehearsal?

I don’t know.. but probably not.
It’s a destination wedding, so a lot of our guests will be flying in on Saturday and I’m afraid a lot of them wouldn’t be able to make it.
Honestly, I’m afraid half of our bridal party won’t be able to make it to the rehearsal! 🙁
