I need gift ideas for my SO our 2.5 year anniversary is coming up and I want to surprise him 🙂 I’d also like to stay under $50 if that is possible. I was going to get him a cordless drill (he loves tools), but realized since we live in an APT he wouldn’t really be able to use it. I buy him football stuff all the time and my family recently gave him NFL tickets for December to see his favorite team and thats a hard present to beat!
Just some quick info that may help spring ideas. My man enjoys gardening (we have small plants growing on our porch), is a major history buff, values a good cold beer, is into cooking, and LOVES football.
I’d love any ideas! Thanks bees!

It’s not actually an anniversary so why don’t you just surprise him with a nice home cooked meal and a massage?

I second the home meal, maybe with a beer since he likes beer…maybe bake cupcakes or a cake, too? We don’t celebrate half-versaries so I’m not sure how ‘big’ you guys go for them 🙂

Half versary lol didnt think to write that for my title, oh well! we’re doing fondue at home as our dinner 🙂 we usually just give cards and love letters on half veraries, but for some reason he said he got me something (it def is not a ring since he told me he’s not proposing until February ) but I don’t want to not give him something. You guys know how that is. Beer and dessert is a good idea! Maybe I can get a special brew he likes nothing too crazy but something he would appreciate.

My SO mentions every once in a while that there’s a book he wants to read or buy. I’ll say something like “that’s nice” as if I don’t care, but write it in my phone as soon as I get the chance. (this didn’t work once, though. I ordered a book for his birthday that he had told me he wanted 7 months before, and I didn’t notice that in the meantime he had bought it until I had already ordered it!) So, can you remember him mentioning something he wants?
Otherwise, the meal idea is good. I’m sure he’ll enjoy anything remotely thoughtful. Men are not generally too complicated. Good luck 🙂

How about buying or making a small peresonal cake with a message on it or his fav teams mascot?
Does he have a chore he prefers not to do (IE dishes) you could offer to do it for the week.
A magazine subscription to a gardening magazine? or sports illustrated? (although honestly I would stick with food since its a 1/2versary and keep the good ideas for the real deal since normally you keep this low key)

@arathella: hmmm I’m sure he has mentioned something recently I just need to think hard! lol thats a great idea though 🙂 Thanks! I’m sure your SO appreciated your thoughtfullness either way 🙂
@ThreeMeers: I already do the chores he hates ha ha he can’t stand cleaning the bathroom. He does love my cakes, so that would be a good idea!! If I could be creative enough to draw out the 49ers logo (shouldnt be too hard) he’d go bananas 🙂 like you said low key is best since its more a day to be thankful for than anything lol
