Weddingbee boards

Yep, today is our first anniversary (along with being my birthday).  NotFroofy is thawing the top tier of our wedding cake so we can eat it this evening.

@AudzinLuv:  Well, we'll have to see about the cake.  However, it was the traditional British fruitcake, which tends to keep better than a sponge cake.

@JenniMichele: Well, a friend did suggest we should keep it going for ten years.  But somehow, I think not.

@PitBulLover: No, we didn't really have a birthday cake on our wedding day.  We had a luncheon following the ceremony at which cake was served, but it was just slices of cake, not a whole cake.  Then we had our wedding cake at the at-home reception, three days later.  So the birthday cake ended up getting skipped that year.

@pb and j:  It was mostly great.  The only issue was that I had managed to schedule a dental appointment for that day.  (Yes, my first bad move!)  Then I decided I would bicycle to the dentist's office.  A third of the way there, the chain on my bicycle broke.  Fortunately, I was able to get the rest of the way by subway, and then pick up the bike and take it to the repair place on my way home.

However, NotFroofy and I had our anniversary dinner at a nice restaurant we'd never been to before.  I got calls from my brother, sister, son, and daughter.  And my son is coming over for a slightly delayed birthday dinner on Friday.
