I adore solitaires, I love how they really let the center stone shine! Pairing a thin simple solitaire with a pave band would be gorgeous and so classic looking! I’m a huge fan of 6 brong settings, I love the shape it gives.

I have a thin (less than 2mm) plain 6 prong solitaire setting and I love it! My diamond is significantly smaller than what you’re getting (0.25 carat), but here is a pic!

Mine is really thin, I believe 1.5 or 1.8. My diamond is 1.51. Long story but this is it on my moms hand, i blurred her diamond out. Mine is yellow gold with little diamonds on the side. I was very close with going with a plain band. I think it’s so classy and beautiful.

Not the best pictures, but here is a ~1 carat 6 prong solitaire set in a 2mm palladium band. Sometimes the band looks a little thick in pics (the first pic is very close up) but I think in person the 2mm is perfect…not too thick and not so thin that it feels fragile. I was worried about the width of the band but I am happy with 2mm.

Here is another pic from farther away (ring on Willow Tree figures), might be easier to see the proportions here.

This is a halo, sorry, lol, but it’s a thin pave band (right around 2mm) with 6 prongs, so hopefully it’ll help give you an idea! 🙂

ETA: Sorry, just realized I mis-read your post and that you said maybe a pave wedding band, not a pave band on your solitaire. Sorry for being that person who randomly posts their ring on inappropriate threads, eek!

Your ideas on design sound lovely. Biased, but I adore the simplicity of a solitaire on a plain band. Here is mine, it is a four prong, but my carat size is close in size to yours, 1.61, and I have a very thin and delicate band at 1.5mm. Was hard to find a jeweler who would go that thin but I love it. Congrats to you!

This is a .64ct center stone on a 2mm shank. The setting tapers to 1mm at the bottom, and it’s not the most comfortable option. I can’t wait till I can change the setting to something that’s wider at the bottom and tapers towards the stone.

I have a 1.5 mm pave band (with a ruby center stone) and the matching wedding band and love it. I have short fingers so it works out perfectly. I love how dainty it looks.

@mrsfutures:  thank you! I was going back and forth between 6 and 4 for ages – I loved the look of 6, but had read some threads where people said that 6 can overwhelm <1ct stones as you see “too much metal”, so I was super happy when I saw how delicate mine are.
