Well the ones you posted here are cute. The first is pretty traditional, but you are both smiling. In the next few, they are just sweet. Sometimes you have to take a lot of photos to get a good one! I am also shy, so I know how you feel.

@ItsDestiny:  Sorry to hear about your experience.  On the bright side, all it cost you was your time.  I am glad you posted this though, because even though they were “free” it did cost you time and effort and it’s important for people to understand that.

I would ask for a refund, there are a lot of issues with these images, they are not even color corrected look to be straight out of the camera to me.

Sorry you are disappointed, but, OMG, I LOVE your outfit!  Has a total 1940s feeling that  I just love.  You’re gorgeous!

If you are really unhappy, then I would ask him to redo them.  You said he is just starting out doing couples, so he may need more feedback himself.  Maybe the three of you can look at the photos together, point out what you do like and go from there.  It’s still a learning experience for him and I am sure he would love more pictures to add to his collection which also means you get more pics you love.

I think it would be fine to ask him to re-do them if you are comfortable doing that. The quality of these photos is pretty poor – I feel like I could have taken them for  you, and that’s not a good thing 🙂 You should be happy with the finished product if you paid for them.

Honestly, I would ask him to re-do them.  Its not even th composition of the photos that’s the problem in my opinion–its the quality of the photos themsevles.  Granted, he was shooting at night, but anyone “getting into the biz” has to have better quality stuff than that.  Were the photos you liked on his website in the daylight?  Maybe he’s just not a good night shooter yet.

Did he process these at all? Photoshop is kinda important for photographers, I thought. I’m sorry, but I totally see what you mean. I could have taken these pictures with my digital, and you can tell him I said so when you ask for your money back.

Or ask him to redo them during the day. And process a few of them this time. Plus side, I do love the grocery store ones, so at least you already have some cute e-pics!

As a professional amateur, these aren’t the best quality, for sure. Maybe he was nervous. Shooting at night is totally different (will I ever get those sparkler pics right!?!) The grocery store ones were hilarious, in focus, and cute!!!!!!
