- Wedding: September 2013
Ok here’s some background on our wedding date(s). First we chose Oct 2012. I’ve always wanted a fall wedding and I wanted a long engagement to save and pay for the wedding (we are paying for the wedding ourselves). We set the date (tentatively) thinking since we chose a far out date and our city isn’t big, we would have no problem finding and booking the venue of our dreams.
Well the venue we fell in love with doesn’t do Oct weddings (its a lodge in the woods by a river that does a Haunted House all of Oct). The only available fall date was Sept 3 2012. Which isn’t even really fall if you ask me. Turns out the venue is VERY covated.
FI and I were debating on having an early fall/late summer wedding over Labor Day weekend etc. While we were debating someone booked that day.
SOOOO we decided to wait another year for our wedding. So we are now getting married in Sept 2013.
I already purchased my dress. At the time it was something I love (I still love it) but I haven’t seen it since I purchased it, my dress has not come in yet. I bought it because I knew by the time my wedding came around it would no longer be available, which it isn’t. The designer discontinued it.
But now that I have more time for our wedding, I’m thinking maybe a really pretty lace gown that is more rustic would be nice. Maybe lace with a sash and bow around the hips. When picking out my dress before I was adament about NO LACE lol but now I’m thinking lace might fit more with my rustic theme and maybe my dress that I’ve already bought doesn’t fit as well with my vision as I once thought.
I know I’m not the first bride to feel this way after purchasing a dress. I know I won’t be the last either. I guess I’m just looking for validation that no I made the right decision and should keep my first dress. Or no I should buy a second dress since I have more time to save for the wedding.
Here is my picture of my dress I bought. Like I said I love it. I love the band on the hips which is something I really wanted and I’m happy to have found a dress that already had that instead of having alterations add it.
