If this is your “do it right” wedding why aren’t you inviting hardly anyone?

The point of 2nd weddings is to make it more inclusive. I think it would’ve been more appropriate if you had invited family and few close friends. 10% of folks invited wont show up anyway. Now you’re in a situation where you might invite a close friend, but not your aunts? I would be upset with you both as well. Just go with the flow for now, since your wedding is almost here. But I strongly suggest you do some sort of party/anniversary gathering where you actually invite your loved ones…all of them. Good luck!

@erinn122: invite who you want. It’s your expression of love and you should have loved ones there who will build you up as couple and want to celebrate with you.

I am wondering how your FI’s aunts and uncles would ever know that your aunt was invited?  I invited all of my first cousins to our wedding.  DH invited none of his, because his immediate family is so large, and he has so many siblings, nieces, and nephews.

@erinn122:  But how would his parents or anyone else know who else was at your wedding?  No one at our wedding who did not already know each other would have had any idea who anyone else there was, whether they were co-workers, friends, or family.

@erinn122:  if you are intending to have a get together for everyone anyways, why even have the destination wedding?   just have the wedding and reception where everyone can attend.  if you are on a budget, why have two celebrations??  you are doubling your expenses.  you can go to disney for your honeymoon after with the kids (i am assuming they are your kids).
