I am also doing 30 day shred and ww.. have lost 13 lbs so far!! Am looking forward to seeing answers to this thread as I would likr to work a little more on my arms too!!
5.5 months is plenty of time!! Especially with a great workout and a diet plan. Congrats on making such good decisions! Isn't it funny how we can be more motivated by one silly dress than by the actual idea of being healthy. That dress is magic!
Weight Watchers is a great way to make you aware of your food choices and conscious about what you're feeding your body. Try their cookbooks! Easy and delicious recipies. I consider myself a pretty good cook and I use their recipes all the time - my friends and family don't even realize the food is healthy!
Best of luck to you on reaching your weight loss goals. Keep us all updated on your progress!
That's plenty of time to tone your upper body-- keep up the shred and you'll definitely see it. I noticed a real difference in my arms within a month of starting the shred. I do it with 8 pound weights now and I think my fiance's a little scared of me!
I have to laugh because I remember when I first started the shred, I got about 1/3 of the way through and had to stop beacuse I was in such bad shape physically. When she wanted to do jumping jacks, I groaned because I couldn't do them. Now, I do all the aerobic exercises without a problem. I truly hope that in a month, you'll really see the results! I'm not expecting to be a swimsuit model but like I said before, I'm just really concerned with being able to fit into my dress for the fitting. Thanks for your input and I'll keep you guys updated as to my status! Good luck to everyone who is trying to lose weight and tone up! It's definitely not easy.
It's a workout DVD by Jillian Michaels from the biggest loser. It incorporates circuit training, so you're constantly keeping your heart rate up and alternating between strength training, cardio and abs. You are basically working out for 20 minutes, but it is undoubtedly the most intense 20 minutes you'll ever do! I like it because it is a complete workout and it's only 20 minutes long. I don't have the patience to do one of those DVD's that are an hour long. I can do this really quickly and then I'm good for the night. I highly suggest it as she really pushes you to achieve more.
So, it has been a week since I started W.W., and about 1.5 weeks (give or take) that I started doing the 30 day shred. I lost 1.8 pounds thus far, and I probably would have lost alot more if I didn't have so many celebrations last week. Funny, but potato salad is one thing that I have a hard time saying no to. I hadn't done the 30 day shred in about 3 days, but did it last night. I am hurting to say the least. I may have to start doing level 1 until my knees feel better, but at least I'm actually doing something. I do have to do more arm exercises as well since I'm so nervous about them and a strapless gown. How is everyone else doing with their weight loss?
wheres the best plac eto buy the 30 day shred? im currently going to the gym and walking my dog at night, but it would prob be a great adjunct! thanks!
I need some inspiration. Two years ago I lost 30lbs on WW, and have been able to maintain that loss give or take 3lbs the whole time. I'm a fairly petite girl (4'10"), and honestly, I'd like to lose about 5lbs more before the wedding. I've been doing the 30 Day Shred 5 days a week, running 2, and honestly sticking to WW, for a month. I hadn't weighed myself because I didn't want to get bogged down with a number. Well, this morning I did, and I was EXACTLY the same weight. I get that some of that could be muscle, and I can see a difference, but argh. It really seems like the last 5lbs are impossible to get rid of. Does anyone have any suggestions for when you rounding that final hurdle? Thanks!
Also, if you have Comcast OnDemand, you can find the shred and other JillianMicheals workouts on there! They really whoop your booty lol
@MsPeanutButter, if you don't want to buy the DVD and have a computer/lap top in an area where you can work out, use YouTube. You may find other workouts you like better on there as well.

So I've been doing the 30 day shred for about a week and a half now, give or take a few days, and I'm amazed to see how far I've gotten. I'm on the second level and was actually able to do some of the moves that at first I thought I would never be able to do. I also joined Weight watchers on Tuesday because of the fact that I am getting really nervous about my dress not fitting come August or September. If you haven't tried the 30 day shred, I highly recommend it. It's circuit training, so you get a little of everything. However, I really need to work on my arms, although with only 5.5 months left, I am not expecting great miracles to happen.
Does anyone have miracle exercises that they've done for their arms that you can do at home that have actually worked wonders for you?
