ComputerLove06:  I agree 100%.  My 20s were a blast, but there were lots of ups and downs.  My 30s (i’m 32) have been amazing thus far.  I have a great career, we’re looking to build our first house in the fall (waiting for the next release phase), we’ve had some amazing travel experiences, we have disposable income to do all kinds of things we weren’t able to do in our 20s, we’re getting married, hoping to start a family soon, etc.  It’s so exciting.

I’m sort of the opposite of you! I turned 33 in April and feel more lost career wise  than ever before. I thought I had it all figured out in my twenties, I had a plan, I knew what I wanted out of life and did what I wanted. I was confident, sure of myself, did what I wanted and didn’t care what people thought of me. Now I feel like I’m trying to figure it all out again. The career I had no longer brings me joy, I have been beat down by life so I am slowly getting my confidence back. I am engaged to the most amazing man who is helping me to accept life for what it is, not have a plan all the time, and enjoy life again. We are trying to create income streams that will allow us to be independent and work from home. We want to start a family and would like to be able to work from home.

Glad you have such a great outlook on life and your 30s. I am trying to stay positive. I keep hearing “The 30’s are your best years don’t waste them” and ” don’t wait any longer to have kids, it just gets harder the older you get” (that’s a little off topic. I do want to have a secure, steady income before I have kids but does anyone have that anymore?) I just don’t feel like I’ve made any of the right choices in my life career wise/financially and have barely any skills to offer. I try to work out and will do well for a few weeks and then stop because I don’t know. I just can’t stay motivated.

Anyway, I’m glad you are doing so well. Good luck with everything.

ComputerLove06 Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate it a lot. I do understand what you said about being able to navigate life better at this point in my life. I was just saying to my fiancee today I feel I am much better at being flexible in life and with plans than I used to be. When I met my fiancee if we made a plan for the night and changed it in the process, I would be so bothered! He has helped me a lot in just going with the flow. Thank you for letting me know I am not alone! It definitely helps!

ComputerLove06:  “I will be 31 in September and honestly feel (and by many accounts LOOK) no older than 19 and I know it is because of the happiness and joy I have found in myself and in the many blessings I have in my life. “

That’s a great #HUMBLEBRAG, thanks for sharing…

My twenties were pretty great (travelled and worked overseas, met some awesome people, bought my first house and found a career I love) but my thirties have been brilliant so far.  I feel like everything I worked to put into place in my twenties is now solidifying; career is going very well (with a slight sidestep into a different area but still in the same industry), I’m engaged to the man of my dreams, we’re starting to look for our first house together (he’s just sold his place and I’ll sell mine early next year), and that life is exactly what I want it to be.  One of my colleagues was dreading turning thirty but now she’s there, things are starting to come up trumps for her too so I don’t think it’s just me who has experienced this!

ComputerLove06:  What type of meditation do you do? That’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while but haven’t really been motivated to give it a proper try… I’m curious to hear what works for you.
