Hi there date twin! ![]()
I too have a 3/21/09 date.
How we decided on the date?
We both work in Higher Education so we knew that we needed to choose a date at a slow time for our jobs. 3/21 is when our first unofficial date when we decided to get together and just happened to fall on a Saturday. I also love the fact that it's easy for both of us to remember 321.
Where are we in the planning process?
We have most of major details taken care of at this point. We're having our wedding in Atlanta and live in VA so the majority of the planning has been long distance.
Still on the planning list:
Finding my accessories (veil, earrings)
Finalizing a hairstyle
Finalizing the groom and groomsmen look
Getting gifts for our parents and bridal party
Finalizing transportation for our Friday night outing and Saturday wedding
Smaller details: place cards, guest book, programs
Happy Planning!
I am one day away from you ladies :) 3/22/09. I chose March because the weather tends to be beautiful in March; sunny yet cool. As for choosing Sunday, my venue had a big price difference in Saturday vs. Sunday. Best wishes!
3...2...1...WEDDING!!
Hi Date Twins!!!
HOW WE DECIDED ON THE DATE:
We actually decided on the date before we got engaged. ;) We were looking for a date in the first part of the year, as we have a lot of holidays, birthdays, etc in the second half. And 3-2-1 is just fun and easier to remember! My FI also proposed on 3/21/08, so we can have exactly a one year anniversary.
WHERE WE ARE IN THE PLANNING PROCESS:
Well, doing a pseudo-destination wedding (we live in LA, my family and the wedding venue is in Chicago) is been a little difficult. After the first of the year, we reaallly need to get cracking on the ceremony details and the programs, along with a photo montage and gift bags....etc etc...you get the drift...
Cant wait to hear from more!!!
So..how is everyone doing?
Im in the middle of finalizing, oh, almost EVERYTHING!!!
Is anyone else in the same boat?
3-2-1 bride here. Live in Venice and wedding is in St. Louis. Flying over with the in-laws and groomsmen....all Italians with very limited English and my side are all from St. Louis and surrounding areas.
We are having many moments in 2 languages, traditional catholic ceremony and buffet reception. It has been quite the ride so far with cultural differences and expectations!
Trying to finalize last minute details...mom is working on DIY centerpieces, and RSVP's are pouring in...and already full of drama in that department!
FI is desperately searching for groomsmen gifts, I've found about 1/2 of BM gifts, and hope to find parent gifts week-of.
Definately starting to feel like a bride and am going through things that I was in denial about...oh that drama will NEVER happen to me....who was I kidding?!
@katelovescoffee: I am definitely in the same boat!!! Invitations went out, and there was a typo for the hotel phone number. That is the source of my current stress right now.
I just had my first dress fitting this past weekend. Makeup and hair trials in 2-3 weeks. Need to also get my music selections finalized.
My goals for this week are to get the rehearsal invites sent out (helping my MIL with that one), and finish my programs this weekend (might be wishful thinking, but a girl can dream!)
Where is everyone else in their wedding planning? What is still on your to-do list?
Hey Ladies! I'm one week after 3/28/09. Every weekend is crafting with my mom and sister. This weekend we designed the programs and started work on them. They are very time consuming, so we only got 12 (of 50) done. Invitations go out this week.
We're meeting with the coordinator this weekend to go over day of scheduling.
I haven't done a tasting yet with our caterer, is that bad? It isn't a matter of picking one, our venue requires us to use theirs, just haven't tasted her food...
Anyone else feel like the to do list keeps growing instead of shrinking?
61 days and counting for me...you girls are one week ahead.
Hey guys!
I am also a 3/21/09 bride. I decided on the date because it is during my law school spring break, and I didn't want to miss a week of class (oh, and I had originally picked May, but then my MOH really wanted that week, so I gave it to her and rescheduled). Also, the wedding is in FL, so the weather will likely be pretty nice at the end of March.
I have been engaged since 2/9/07, so I have had plenty of time to get nearly everything done, just working on small details:
FI needs to get groomsmen gifts
Still waiting on RSVP's to know how many OOT bags to do, place cards, escort cards, etc.
DIY projects - a card box and flower letters for the church door
And I am doing my makeup trial and gown fitting this week :)
I just dropped my invites for my 3/28 wedding in the mail this morning!!!! eeeeek! I can't wait to start getting phone calls, texts, ims, facebook messages from everyone getting them. When out Save the Dates went out my phone was blowing up for 3 days. 2 months.....
Just wondering how everyone's 3/21 wedding went? I hope your big day went off without a hitch! I am still pinching myself, I can't believe I'm finally married...
Our wedding was absolutely amazing and we just got our wedding pictures to prove it! It's hard to believe it will be a month so soon!
Hi Ladies!
Wow - can you believe its been way over a month! Its been now a month since we got back from our honeymoon!!!
Hope the married life is treating everyone well!

Anyone else out there in the same boat as me, with a wedding date of March 21st, 2009?

How did you decide on your March 21st date?

At first I was hesitant about an offseason wedding (would the weather cooperate? Would the guests be able to attend?)...but I quickly got over those issues, when I realized all the money saved by doing it outside of the norm. =)
Photogs offered amazing discounts, cake vendors and florists had schedules that were wide open (giving me free reign to the best of the best), and my venue rental fee was cut in half. Now I'm free to splurge on all the finer details, like table/chair linens, reception decor and attendants' gifts! I'm always told that I'm such a bargain diva. =)
The only things I have left to do are the favors, design programs and table menus, sew the runners, and print the invitations. (Aside from my scheduled alterations to the dress, as well as purchase toile for the veil).
I'm also piecing together the attendants gifts as I go...they'll be getting a little of everything. =)
