Hey bees,

It’s been a lonnnnnng time since I’ve been on the bee. It’s good to be back 🙂
I’m struggling a bit here today. I’ve had three rounds of pre-term contractions (they aren’t calling it pre-term labor because I haven’t had any dilation, luckily). First was at 26 weeks, which bought me a trip to Labor & Delivery Triage and a dose of Terbutaline. Again at 30 weeks, which wasn’t as strong. I was able to get them to go away on their own with a weekend of bedrest. Thursday night they started again. I probably should have went to L&D, but I didn’t. Friday, I went to my OBs office. I was having pretty consistent contractions, randomly painful (some are, some arent). Pain level a 3 on a scale of 1-10. I had 5 in the 20 minutes I was on monitors in the office. They put me on 10mg Procardia – three times daily. I noticed more frequent breakthough contractions today so I started taking it four times daily (8am, noon, 4pm, 8pm). Today, I’ve noticed the procardia is only lasting about an hour & 45 minutes before the contractions start up again.
I’m just so beyond frustrated. Once the meds have wore off, I only find relief laying on my side in bed. I can’t even sit up in bed, or walk to the bathroom or downstairs to the kitchen without having contractions and needing to be back in bed. Sometimes they’re consistent & time able, somtimes they’re more random like BH. Most of the time, they aren’t painful, I just notice the tightening of my abdomen. To be honest, Its more annoying than anything else! Sometimes there is pain associated. Doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to why some are painful & most aren’t.
Is anyone else in the same boat? And if my contractions aren’t causing dilation, is there really a need to even be concerned? I’m going to call my OBs office first thing in the morning. Just wanted to vent a little and get some others opinions.
