- Wedding: August 2013
…in China, apparently. The ship date was supposed to be June 15, and I didn’t find out about the whole situation until I went in for my first alterations appointment today. The salon seemed as shocked as I was (if not more so) that the dress wasn’t in the stock room, and made some urgent calls to the designer to figure out where it was. That’s when we learned that the dress wasn’t placed on the June shipment boat in China, and that they only ship dresses once per month.
Yup. We’re now looking at a ship date of July 15…a little over 2 weeks before my August 3 wedding! AH!
The salon was extremely helpful and concerned, and promised to follow up with the designer weekly until the dress arrives…they’ll also cover the rush shipping fees and guaranteed my alterations would be a priority when it does come in. That’s all fine and good, but now the what if’s are racing through my mind. What if they miss this shipment too? What if it looks like garbage when it arrives (or after speedy alterations), and I have <2 weeks to find something different?!? Should I have a plan B for my dress?
Sorry for the vent…I’m just trying to wrap my head around this. Ugh.
