I just booked a 3D ultrasound and gender scan for next Friday! I will be 16+2, and I can’t wait to see what baby looks like right now! I mostly wanted to book this now, because I wanted to start my Christmas shopping which will mostly be baby things. But I also don’t think I could have waited until 18-20 weeks to find out what this little one is!
Any other bee’s had a 3D this early? Do you have pictures from it? I’d love to see all of your 3D scan pictures! Maybe even before and after ones!

I’m having the same at 17w 1d tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it turns out!

I had one at 18 weeks with my first son, Personally I like the 3ds when they are bigger so they have that cute baby chub and don’t look so….skeletal I guess! I got one early the same reason as you though to find out what it (he) was. So this isn’t as early as you, but it’s an early one.

When I had a nuchal translucency scan at 13 weeks, the u/s tech turned on the 3d view just for fun. It looked horrid. We dubbed our bean Baby Crater-head. I wouldn’t show it to anyone.
Full disclosure: I don’t really think any of the 3d images we saw looked all that great. We didn’t keep any of the prints.
That said, yours could turn out great, and I hope it does. But I’ve seen a lot of sites say prime time for the 3d ultrasounds is 24-34 weeks, since the baby will have more fat and be moving around more.

So sweet and so tiny!
I haven’t had one, but a bunch of moms in my birth club have!

@PixelMePretty: Oh! Look at him sucking his thumb!
@annifer: I’m mostly doing it to find out if baby is a boy or girl! But I figured I would like to still get to see what baby looks like, and for not much extra, we could do that full package. So we did!
We may do another 3d closer to 29-30 weeks. Im undecided on that still.
@OldMrsMcDonald: 😀 Im so excited for you! I know I was shaking when I booked mine today, so I can imagine how excited you must be! What are you hoping for/ think your having!?

I had one at 19+5. It wasn’t as clear as a 30w one would have been but I could see a lot of tiny features and found out she was a girl 🙂

We booked a 3D gender scan around the same time as you. I had to have a regular ultrasound around 16 weeks as a preventative measure and the tech thought it was a girl but wasn’t completely sure so I wanted to have someone else confirm it (and get a potty shot) before we announced to our families. We did get a picture of her face during that appointment which was still really fun to see even though they do change a lot by the time they are born. We did a package that includes a gender scan and lets you come back around 28-31 weeks for another 3D scan to see the baby a little bigger so I will post both so you can see the difference and decide if you might want to do that scan as well. The first two pics were at 16 weeks, the second two are at 29 weeks. Have fun at your scan hope baby cooperates!

Wow it’s so neat to see the difference! I plan to have another 3D around 29-30 weeks. Becuase I want to see how baby has changed! We don’t have any packages with our 3D place that offer that same package though. They do offer a % off of the second one, and then 50% off of the third if you chose to do a third. We were going to JUST do the gender scan, but for not much more money, we could see the baby, and get an extra 10 minutes….. It just seems like a better deal!
