@spraguebride: I went by WTEWYE. I believe it said the 28th week was the beginning of the 3rd trimester. (:

I still don’t get it either, so I’m no help, but I just wanted to say that I can’t believe you are already entering your third trimester! Congrats!! I feel like you were just announcing your pregnancy! I hope I get to my third trimester as quickly … this first one is pretty brutal!

I waited until the day I was 28 weeks to “announce” that i was in my third trimester. It varies so much from source to source, I don’t think there is an official separation. I went by what to expect because the info is usually better and i feel like it’s more reliable than a lot of online sources (especially since so many of those use the forums for answers instead of researched information). Anyway, I’ve seen Bees announce that they were in the 3rd trimester during both weeks. ๐Ÿ™‚

To me, it makes sense that 27 weeks would be in the third trimester. I mean, each trimester should be about 13 weeks.

However, if they are counting the third trimester as not starting until you are technically two thirds of the way through the actual pregnancy (so, not counting the first two weeks between last period and ovulation) then I guess each trimester would be 12 weeks, 5 days (roughly 38 weeks total). In that case, the second trimester would start at 14 weeks, 5 days, and the third would start at 27 weeks, three days. That is still closer to 27 weeks than 28 so I don’t know how they’re doing their math.

For the record, I started saying third trimester as soon as I completed my 27th week.
