Ugh I wish I was done!  Our wedding is a lot of DIY so I still have centerpieces to make, favors to make and put together, gifts to buy, decorations to order… I could go on. We are also getting married outside of our hometown so I have make/gather everything we want and then bring it to the venue for the day of coordinator to set up… Stressssss

I take it I’m not the only one with rooms being taken over by “the wedding” 😛 I think the worst part is knowing I have to remember alll of the things that we need from decor to clothing to place cards and more and worrying thatI am going to forget something important. Even now I am remembering a person or two that we forgot to invite! Anyone else having the dreaded wedding nightmares?

I have to wait for my dress! It came in the wrong colour, but dress 2.0 will be in at the end of August. (Designers fault I think. It’s all good.)

Also have to pick flowers, cake, menu, ceremony space from the resort where we’re getting married. But that’s easy.

Invites are already out, but I’m dreading the seating chart a bit. I hope it’s not too awful to do!

I feel like I’m doing…. um… nothing.

Everything is taking place at a convention center so they set it up, take it down. They provide tables, linens, decor, lighting, etc. I will order some roses for DIY bouquets but I have done that before so no biggie.

Cake is picked out. DJ is supposedly a go. Photographer is booked.

Dress needs alterations, but that doesn’t start for another two months.

Invitations are just waiting to be addressed.

So I feel like I really have nothing to do. Am I just totally missing something? I’ve had no stress. Maybe it’s because I’m not considering this a big event?

My biggest thrill? Putting together BM gift bags. Haha.

All of the big stuff is done, but there’s a TON of details left to finish up. I’m still figuring out my hair and makeup, and I have to buy my veil and bridal accessories. I did manage to purchase some shoes already, which is a relief. I have to figure out my centerpieces. Also need to approve the proofs for my invitations so they can be printed. Dress alterations appointment late August…I’m sure I’m forgetting things, but  I’m not freaking out yet. My wedding is exactly 4 months from TODAY…but who’s counting ;).

Our date is October 4th so its creeping up fast!

We still have to diy: bathroom baskets, invites/send, bouttonairs and bouquets, table centerpeices

Order online: decorations, my shoes (converse, no need to try on first), a floral hair piece, cloth napkins (il_570xN.458154777_g5xt.jpg)

Misc:book chair and table rental, dance floor rental, find flower girls outfit and jr bridemaid, find sand ceremony kit, decide on what we are eating off of tableware wise LOL, pick aisle songs for down/up, first dance, playlist…harass people to make sure wedding speeches are prepared (lol) write out our vows, go over things with our officiant

OH MY…..shoot me

I’m working on:

-bridesmaid gifts

-place cards and escort cards

-figuring out our first dances and the song for the father/daughter dance

It’s frustrating because there are things that I can’t work on yet that are important. Our venue doesn’t do tastings until much closer to the date so that we can taste things that are in season, and my dress designer makes the dress really close to the wedding too. So my dress isn’t made yet and we have no menu.

Other than that things are looking good. The waiting is driving me crazy, I want October to get here already!

Right now I’m working on finishing centerpieces, invitations (just ordered the paper for them, need it to come in!), figuring out music, figuring out day-of timeline, need to schedule my hair and makeup trial, need to create a photobooth backdrop, buy flower girl dresses (I keep forgetting to do this and it NEEDS done asap), and I need to find a seamstress now that my dress is in.

There’s other stuff that still needs done but this is all I’m focusing on right at this moment! We actually visited our venue today to test out my centerpiece idea and make sure it would work. It looks really good! I also took along my iPod so I could hook it up to the sound system and check out the sound quality. They have a really great system, I was pleasantly surprised, the music sounded really good. It was great to have the music going and the centerpiece on the table and start to get a feel of what the room would be like on our big day. It’s all coming together, slowly but surely 🙂
