I’m a mix of emotions as I type this. I need some encouraging or helpful words of advice. We’ve been planning our December 8th wedding since last September and just found out that we’re expecting a 2nd baby…I wanna make a happy and sad face all in one. It’s absolutely bad timing, but what can you do? I just signed the lease to my brand new salon/spa, we just paid off our videographer and photographer (the most expensive vendors on our list, under the caterer). I’m just a WRECK right now. My last pregnancy I was on bed rest for 4 months and couldn’t work because of an incompetent cervix (kept trying to open. and had preterm contractions for the last 4 months). I just can’t see how we’re going to do this with a toddler who can’t take care of himself, and me possibly not being able to work or on bed rest. We have funds saved, but what about the new salon/spa? I’m so distraught when this should be a happy moment!…..*breath…..just keep swimming*
As far as my issues with the wedding, I really just want to know if anyone can give me advice on the dress, etc. I will be wearing the snow white 207, which is a natural waist “ball gown”. I’m not quite sure how a baby bump will look in it. Also, we’re honeymooning in vegas, anything exciting to do there (since we won’t be drinking lol). We’ve never been, and our registry is a honeymoon registry through traveler’s joy, so we’d like to think of creative things to do that don’t involve booze.

just keep breathing!
I don’t have much advice on anything but Vegas. 🙂
You can enjoy the following sans alcohol.
Some casinos are better than others in terms of tobacco smoke. Just make sure to avoid the poorly ventilated areas.
Lay out by the pool at whatever casino/hotel you end up staying at. There are a ton of amazing options. You can look up some of the offerings on youtube to figure out where you might want to stay.
Catch a few shows! There are some amazin performances in Vegas. When Fi and I were there with my family, I wanted to see Phantom fo the Opera (still sad I missed out) but he bought us tickets for the Blue man Group. We had a blast. I’m sure you could see a different show each night of the week if you wanted to. Plenty to see without getting bored.
Check out the MGM Lions
Honestly, I’d just visit the vegas website. 🙂 There’s a ton of stuff to look forward to! 🙂

I don’t have any advice but I just wanted to say congratulations. Such exciting news.

@Asia: Thank you so much 🙂 I didn’t even consider all of the smoke!…We’re actually staying in one of the suites at the MGM Signature. I definitely want to check out a ton of shows, I just don’t know how Fiance will feel about them. He’s really only expressed interest in Cirque Du Soleil. But I will get on the vegas site and see what I can find 🙂 Thanks again

@Shewillbeloved: no problems! And sorry about all of the typos. DX I don’t catch them all when I am excited (and my keyboard is kind of on the way out the door)

@Shewillbeloved: I just went to Vegas with my sister who brought her son, who was 10 months at the time. We had an AMAZING time, even with baby.
Luckily she had a nanny to watch the baby while we were out. However, she was still breastfeeding, so she couldn’t be around as much smoke either.
We were at the MGM grand, and they do a GREAT job of pumping oxygen into the building to get rid of the smoke. PLUS there are areas in casinos that are SMOKE FREE!
We went to see shows, ate at fab resturants, it was still an amazing time.
Sometimes things happen, and later on we figure out why.

After seeing your dress, I think at 4mo, you are going to look fabulous in it, and your decision to choose it at the time makes total sense now even if you had doubts earlier!
You’re going to be very busy and very beautiful and very married come December. I pray for your stamina to uphold you and a health pregnancy and baby to add to your family.
As far as Vegas, even though it’s you honemoon, maybe there will be lots of extra holiday shows in addition to all the year-round entertainers. Hopefully shows you can enjoy and maybe one or more prenatal massages and other spa luxuries for you and the Mr. to enjoy!

Don’t worry about your dress, even with a second baby you probably won’t have popped then!
And sorry about the difficulties you may have to deal with soon, BUT…
Congrats on the baby!

@Shewillbeloved: Congrats! A baby is forever and a wedding is one day. I actually think a natural waist ball gown would be the best choice for concealing the baby bump.
As for Vegas, I think the Cosmopolitan or Aria has a non-smoking hotel that you may want to check out. A friend went to Vegas on her baby moon and she w stayed there. Also, there are so many good shows to go see! Plenty to do that doesn’t involve drinking.

If you need a smoke free haven in Vegas, stay at the Trump- the whole hotel is smoke free.
Will you have a suture placed for the incompetent cervix issue? Talk with your OB. That is where you will get the best advice for you, your pregnancy and the baby.
If you need help, ask for it. Friends and family are always willing to help. Many times they just don’t know what help you need. When you need help, phone someone and ask- “I can’t get out today. Will you please pick me up a few groceries when you are out? I need

Thanks everyone 🙂 It’s still a bit of a shock. Trying to wrap our heads around how to adjust.
@julies1949: I did have a cerclage with my last pregnancy. I still had him at 32 weeks, even while being on STRICT bed rest, so I’m a little nervous that I won’t be able to work and it’ll be a nightmare of a pregnancy like the last. Not to mention the high blood pressure, gestational diabetes and preterm contractions. But I’m trying to be positive until we can figure out the BEST thing for my body and our family.

@Babysontheway: she does look great in her dress 🙂 I’m 6 weeks now, so I’ll be closer to 6 months by the wedding 🙁 not so cute lol

I think there is nothing more beautiful than a pregnant bride. I have had a couple of friends get married when they were pregnant and the emotion at the wedding was amazing, not to mention they just looked beautiful.
I also think Vegas could be a great place for a honeymoon when you are pregnant. So many delicious restaurants, you can lay out by fabulous pools and sip virgin cocktails then retire to a super comfy bed. There are a million and one shows to take in, most have matinees. I think it will be great!

First – congrats!
Vegas can be fun without all the sinful stuff. I’m not sure I had one drink while we were there, and I like to drink. 🙂 There are tons of cool shows, good restaurants, and breath-taking sights to see in the area. We rented a car and drove to the Grand Canyon. You might want to find a different hotel, though. You have to walk all the way through the smokey casino floor at the MGM and most of the casino hotels. The Monte Carlo you don’t, and there are lots of fab botique hotels off the strip.
I’ve been to a couple weddings with 6-month pregnant brides and they were beautiful and glowing.
