Hey Bees!
It’s been about a year and a half since my wedding (holy moly that went fast!!) and I’m very rarely on anymore, but I’m here hoping you ladies can provide me with advice again! 🙂

My sister is getting married on August 29th and her wedding dress plans recently fell through 🙁 She lives in a town without much in the way of bridal shops to get something off the rack, and she’s plus size so that’s definitely something that increases the difficulty. Add in the fact that she’s got a pretty particular taste (no wide skirts, preferably not white, vintage-feel…) and I’m pretty worried about her finding a dress in time!!

Any thoughts on good online sites to try to find plus sized wedding dresses? She’s already looked through sites like oncewed, preownedweddingdress, and ebay. I found JJ’s Bridal and they seem to claim they could have a dress made and shipped within 4 weeks, but I’m dubious. Any experience there, timeline-wise?

Any help is appreciated, thank you, ladies!

What type of vintage style? 50s pinup? Boho vintage?

I don’t know if it would satisfy the style that she is going for, but dessy.com does quick delivery dresses.
I don’t know what kind of dresses they have, but inweddingdress.com and lovingdresses.com seem to do rush orders on plus sized wedding dresses.

I think my other comment got eaten.
They all do rush orders. The last two have plus sizes, but I’m not sure if they have the style that she is going for.

How traditional we talking? If “not terribly”, then check out Aidan Mattox, Adrianna Pappell, and Tadashi Shoji dresses online. They are sold in most major US department stores adn their online sites, and the are mostly narrow skrit/sheath style, great plus size range, some are very vintage, and colors that range through all the bridal tones, and beyond.
They are also typically all below 700, which is nice.
If more traditional, try david’s bridal online?

definitely David’s Bridal. Variety of sizes and you can buy off the Clearance rack same day.

I am a plus size girl working her way down…and I went to a wedding about 2 years ago in a dress from Igigi and they do wedding dresses. It was the best fitting dress I have ever worn. Perfect and comfortable and I still love it even though it no longer fits. haha

If she’s into retro- you could check the off-the-rack selection on the Dolly Couture site.
Besides that, off the rack at David’s?

acciotoni: Hey, I may have missed it ifyou said anything about budget but bestbridal prices has an “in stock” section so the dresses don’t have to be made:
I hope your sister is able to find a dress 🙂
