These are $69.00 for 1000: http://www.webstaurantstore.com/4-1-2-wooden-skewer-1000-cs/4854SKEW.html
Sam's Club also had 10" ones, which you could always get and cut in half.
I found them on Google so I don't know if they're what you're looking for...
Sorry forgot to send the link my bad

I used to work at a BBQ restaurant in college... they used those short skewers for corn on the cob. In case that helps! :o)
What kind of skewers are we talking? I got packages of corn cob skewers from the 99cent store I think there are 100 in the package and probably about the lenght of #2 pencils but a little smaller around, yet not nearly as skinny as the bamboo shishkabob skewers. I thought about buying chopsticks also, but the ones they had were square. I noticed they have similar skewers at the Smart & Final. They also had paper type skewers like you would find in lollypops or caramel apples. Check out a resteraunt supply store.

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy 4" wooden skewers online? I need about 400, but I don't mind buying 4,000 if they're cheap. I've looked all over and just cannot find them. Maybe I'm calling them by the wrong name, but I've googled toothpicks, food picks, olive picks and skewers. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
