I’ve been looking for hairstyles for my wedding and having a tough time. I won’t be wearing a veil, so the hair will be front and center on the Big Day. I’ve kept it long with the big day in mind, but it’s very fine hair with not very much volume. Day-to-day I braid it in a long rope down the back to keep it out of the way. I never had long hair as a girl or in college–just stopped cutting it in 2005 to see what would happen.
Talked to my hair stylist about it and she suggested half-up half-down since we’re going to be on a boat, but FI said he didn’t want me to look like Sarah Palin. She French-braided it before I left the salon and FI said he liked the simple braid better.
I’ve seen a lot of elaborate braid-y stuff that looks like it would be fun but they’re all modeled by young women. I still want to look like me. I also have an idea of doing a simplier style and incorporate some of the roses I’m going to have in my bouquet, if they can stay fresh for five hours or so.
