So I originally was planning on a big wedding with 5 bridesmaids (who I’ve already asked to be in the wedding). However, we’ve now decided to get married in Vegas and will only have 30-40 guests, if that. So, what’s appropriate as far as bridesmaids go? Is 5 too many for a small wedding? Should I cut it to just my sister (my MOH)? Or go with none at all? Not sure…. opinions greatly appreciated! 🙂

It is really up to you! There is no set rule as far as number of attendants goes, but IMO 5 BMs might be a lot for a smaller wedding. You could just cut to your sister and Maid/Matron of Honor if that is what you want. BUT if you want all 5 ladies standing up there with you, then go for it! It’s your wedding 🙂

I think it would be rough to cut bridesmaids you have already asked, so i would keep them. There are no rules as to how many attendants you can have, plus you never know who might drop out because your having a destination wedding.

I agree with @dance. Do whatever you want. I don’t think 5 is too large for a # even if it’s a small wedding. Think about how you want your pictures to be.. if you want to have a bunch of pictures with them included than have them as Bridesmaid or Best Man, if not than just stick to your sisters or none.

I agree with dance–go with whatever you want. And I’d let your feelings and your relationships with the individuals dictate this, not concerns over how it “goes” with a small wedding. If you really love your 5 friends and want them to be part of your day in that way, then do it.

@MissDonnaAnne: Yeah, good point! I forgot about that. There are two girls that may not be coming.
