Hi Ladies!! Could ya’ll please give me some advice? I know I’m in a bind as there’s not much time left before my wedding, and whatever dress I choose will most likely still need to be ordered & altered. I’ve put off dress shopping as I thought my friends would be more pro-active & excited to help with the wedding & dress shopping over these past few months, however I was sadly mistaken & can’t wait any longer. I’ve considered going by myself, but think I’d feel awkward & prefer to have photos of myself in the dress to re-evaluate my options prior to making a final choice. My family has stepped up & willing to come, so I plan to start looking again here soon. I’ve been to one dress shop with them so far & listed some photos below to give an idea of my body type & the dresses they provided me to try on.. However, I was wondering if ya’ll have any other dress suggestions, especially since I’m in a time crunch? I’ll probably wear my hair down, but no idea what hairstyle to go with either and if I should wear a veil or not. I’d also love any dress shopping tips/advice anyone can share. It’d really be helpful as I’m new to all this. Thank you!!
I’m getting married on the beach (destination wedding) & think something more form fitted from the top down to my waist would be best (fit & flare maybe?), as I’m short & don’t want to get overwhelmed in the dress due to a lack of curves! Fiance does not want me in anything poofy & neither do I really. Don’t want anything too plain & I seem to like sweetheart necklines best. I’ve seen some pretty ones out there w/cap sleeves too. However, I’m open to all suggestions!
My preferred budget is $1,500 or less, though I might go up to $2,000 if I end up finding a dress I’m head over heels for. Staying under $1,000 would be super amazing, considering I still need to factor in alterations, accessories, & maybe rush shipping, on top of the dress price.
Below are the dresses I tried on at my first appointment.
The first dress is my top pick. I’ll order this if I can’t find anything else, but it’s hard to walk in to be honest & quite heavy. I can’t really lift my legs to go up steps & not sure if there’s anyway to fix that or if my correct size would help. Afraid I may end up miserable on the wedding day due to this..
Below are the others the sales lady brought for me to try on.. Really wasn’t feeling most of these. I brought pictures of what I liked, but she said she had a hard time finding anything within my budget..
2.) This one was okay.. The top fit nice, but I felt like I was going to the prom for some reason.. Family was not impressed.
Please excuse my undergarments!!
I’m really grateful for any help. Thanks ladies!!!
