I’m going to a sale on Saturday that is 50% off of any dress off the rack in the store. Sounds like a dream come true. I am SOOOOOOO nervous that I will like a dress, I’ll try it on and I’ll get it. Then I will still have so much time till my wedding and I’ll see other gowns that I like. I’ve seen it happen so many times with brides. Buying a dress, then not wanting it and getting a different one. I don’t wanna be that girl. And financially I don’t have the money to even do that. I’ve tried on dresses twice before (one at David’s bridal, and one at a store that carries designers) I’m a plus size girl and I’m really focused on looking smaller. There’s a dress I’ve really liked the style overall of at David’s, but there’s been a couple different style dresses that I very much love. One being some Casablanca dresses. The store I’m going to doesn’t carry them. ugh. I’m just so stinkin nervous. Lol. Anyone have advice?

mrsdevries: My advice is to stop shopping. As soon as you find one that you can see yourself getting married in, don’t look at any more. You will forget what your dress looks like on. But once you do fittings, you will fall in love with it all over again. Trust your gut instincts.
Have fun with the shopping, and if you don’t find one at the sale, don’t feel like you have to buy something because it is 50% off.

mrsdevries: 50% off is amazing! Is it a sample sale? Since you have tried on dresses before, you should have a general idea on what most flatters you. Do a little research beforehand on the designers/gowns that the store carries. To help narrow down dresses, google real brides who wore the dress, and see if they are nice on real brides as in the model pics. Find them in the store and try on. If you end up loving it and make a purchase – great! If you have dress regrets later, no big deal, you can always sell it on oncewed.com, tradesy.com or preownweddingdresses.com. You be able to get most of your money back if its unworn/unaltered.
