Awesome! If I had to scrap my current theme and pick a new one, it would be 50's vintage! A few ideas of things to include:
- Birdcage veil with feathers!
- Mismatched eclectic glass tealight holders (available at any thrift shop or garage sale).
- Ivory colored dress with big shoulders (Lady Gaga brought that style back anyway).
Here's a "real wedding" I found on the Snippet and Ink blog that might help inspire. Good luck!!

This website will change your life: www.ruffledblog.com
I'm also having a vintage wedding and I've been inspired by so many things on that blog, it's not even funny!! What are you thinking your colors are going to be? We're aiming for antique pink and black. My BMs will be in black dresses with either an antique pink accent (i.e., on a sash or a pink flowr in their hair) or in black dresses with an antique pink parasol. I'm too excited!
Are you thinking more rockabilly 50's or refined 50's?
If rockabilly then I would suggest offbeatbride.com for inspiration (or check out Dolly Cotoure's photo albums pn facebook, a good number of her brides have similarly themed weddings
For refined:
We're doing a late 40's themed but there is definitly some cross over. For decorations photographs of famous celebrities of the times (we're using dancers). I always think of garden flowers for the 50's (something that would be in June Cleaver's garden) with soft colors.
Hello!
@ChantelleyLace - my colors are light blue, cream and light pink. My dress is a 50's vintage dress and it is cream with light blue. It was the catalyst that made us decide on a vintage theme. My bridesmaids dresses are light blue 50's swing dresses that we ordered from unique-vintage.com. The dresses are darling! I am excited.
@Knubbsy-Wubbsy - we are going for more of a refined 50's theme. I want to have a piano player there playing Sinatra 50's tunes in the background. Not really going the rockabilly route.
Thanks for your help!
I also am doing a 1950's wedding. Very Classy...I want the "Rat Pack" theme. Very full skirted skirts,I am looking for a carmel colored taffetta full skirted Wedding dress (my 3rd wedding..never had a big wedding)the trim of the dress I would love Black with a side slipped cap with small veil. My son is giving me away in full dress military uniform. My daughter I want in a black full skirted dress with a aqua bow, and small veiled hat.(maid of Honor).
It will be family only for us. we have 7 children and 13 grandchildren...we just never married...lol..couldnt find the time with so many kids.
Now that the children are grown and have families of their own..we feel it's the right time...lol
Congrats to all the beautiful brides!

Having hard time looking for my size.Or if you know of patterns that fit the beautiful dresses I am thinking of let me know. I am a rosemary Clooney size...in white christmas not after.
Thank so much
I am using the vintage champaign glasses and tons of antique china. I just love the look of the old flatter champaign glasses.

Hello Bees,
I bought a 50's vintage wedding gown which has inspired a 50's theme for the wedding. We are getting married in March and I am looking for good ideas for decorations, favors, flowers, etc. If anyone has any thoughts please share!
Thanks so much!
